What's Dan Hawkins doing these days?
Oh wait, Kavis Reed probably has him penciled in for a return to the Alouettes. I could picture Reed pulling a Roger Neilson thing and have Hawkins wear a bag over his head on the sidelines.

Re: Lions 42 - Eskimos 32, Post-Game Stats and Comments
Here's a "post-game comment" (so to speak) that's apparently going viral at the expense of our #4. Had I been that EE player (Duke W. I think) I would have wished to do the very same! Garry Peters deserved all he got right there and then. I note that the score at that moment reads 22--38,...

Re: Lions 35 - TiCats 32, Post- Game Stats and Comments
I think Joel Figueroa deserves a ton of respect for his efforts last night.   I was at the game (the only time I left my seat was while the video review was under way to visit the restroom! Ahhh!) so I didn't have the benefit of isolation replays etc so I only saw bits of his work...

1972 Team Poster/Calendar
In the back of one of my closets I discovered some old posters and stuff. The biggest poster was also a calendar that featured the '72 Lions team photo and season schedule. It was sponsored by White Spot with a small mention of CKNW. I was going to try posting a couple of photos here but I found a m...

Re: American anthem at CFL games
Like most people, I was surprised to hear the SSB sung before the last game, but I immediately understood the context: the celebration of diversity. And I really appreciated that they didn't feel the need to announce why it would be sung. :good: Unfortunately, there are many closed-minded people for...

Is Micah Awe looking for work? (Last thing I heard was the Jets cut him)

Re: Official Kamloops Training Camp Thread 2018
Not a great Sunday morning for nine players who were given the old "here's your apple and a road map": Sunday, June 3 – Released from roster: DL Gelen Robinson (I) DL Quinton Bradley (I) DL Breion Creer (I) DB Deion Carter (I) DB Solomon Means (I) WR Vernon Johnson (I) WR Ronnie Holley (I)...

Re: Jerry Keeling Passes
Just remember, this was back in the day when the running game was more important. It was a vital part of the offence, not a tactic that was used every now and then to set up the pass. I always recall an old coach's comment (not sure who this is attributed to) "When you throw the ball down the f...

Re: Monteal Alouettes Coaching Candidates
Does the name "Jarious Jackson" come up in any of those articles? And would he be interested in a move? As a QB coach, he has worked with Lulay, Reilly, Glenn, Bridge, and look how that turned out. What might happen if he worked with Jennings? Or is he ready for a step up to OC?

Re: Football Operations: GM, Head Coach, Coaching Staff?
I was typing Dorazio's name into that post but I realized his release was more Jeff Tedford's decision than Wally's. Tedford had brought in George Cortez as his OC, and Cortez wanted his own O-line guy, namely Doug Malone.

Re: Football Operations: GM, Head Coach, Coaching Staff?
I do not see JC being the head coach here. Been out of the loop too long. And cannot see MB coming back here if he fired. Being coach here once enough for him and I do not see WB hiring him again. Not his style to rehire someone he has fired. Most likely WB is back for one more year and will try to...

Re: Lions ownership discussion thread
June Jones said on the weekend that he would like to stay in Hamilton. He has earned the opportunity. The only changes needed in Hamilton are at the top. They don’t need both Kent Austin as VP of football operations and Eric Tillman as GM. I don’t know when Austin’s contract is up but he is the one...
