Re: Post Game Thread - Lions & Bombers

There are so many aspects of this team that need to be fixed, it's difficult to know where to start. If it's not an overmatched offensive line, it's a porous defensive line. If it's not bad tackling, it horrible special teams coverage. Inexperienced coaching, failures to adjust at half time,....poor...

2019 New Era Jerseys

Popped into the Lions office after Tuesday's practice, and the "unofficial" word is that the ETA for the corrected New Era replica jerseys is July 27, when the Riders come into town. It's good to see that all parties are working to correct their marketing gaff, but really....just a terribl...

Re: Lions cuts

I believe that there will be quite a bit of shuffling on the Lions D over the first few weeks of the season, and they might also see if someone falls into their lap - much like Davone Coleman did last year.

Re: For those who participated on Total-CFL a notable passing.

At last year's Grey Cup, we had the opportunity to speak with Leo Dodge, another loyal Baltimore Stallion fan, CFL fan, and true gentleman.

Leo has been attending Grey Cups since 1994 and his yearly presence is a comforting and purrfect example of what is right with this league.

Listening today, I'm quickly reminded how irritating it is to hear Moj refer to the"boundry receiver" 50+ times a game. :bang:

Re: Rolly released :(

This is not a classy move by the Lions.

Much like Solly's situation, if Hervey & Co. knew they were going to do this, why disrespect the player with the timing of the release??

Re: Lions' town hall meeting with Randy Ambrosie

I would also vote "yes" for Saturday playoff games but "hell no" for a Sunday Grey Cup. As Hambone & Belize City Lion have commented - a Saturday Grey Cup would severely cut into the league's premier fan weekend. Kudos to Ambrosie for exploring various options and ideas, but ...

Re: TiCats - Lions, Post-Game Stats and Comments

The first rule of team sports is never give your opponent bulletin board material that they can rally behind and exact revenge against you. Yesterday, the Lions apparently thought it was cute to dance on the Hamilton Tiger Cats center field logo. This was a stupid and wreckless move on their part an...

Re: Potential New Receivers for BC

The idea that Vandervoort can't grasp the offense is pure nonsense. All nine teams run a variation of the same offense and to say that Vandervoort doesn't have a grasp of it at this point in the season is either a disservice to him, or else the Lions are using him to plug up a roster spot. Time to p...

I'm on the visitors side, Dale, and frequently, there are multiple empty seats in each row.

There's a slogan - buy a seat.....get a whole row! :dizzy:

A twist on Wally's speech could be a great marketing slogan for 2018.............."Why can't it be US!"

Re: Mark's CFL Week - can it work here?

David, I believe that it COULD work, BUT........the Lions would need to be more on the public's radar than what they are now. For example, if the 2018 CFL Week would have been held in Vancouver, I don't believe that the buzz would have been anywhere near what it has been in Winnipeg. Let's see what ...

Re: Football Operations: GM, Head Coach, Coaching Staff?

Could their thought process include targeting someone to be promoted to the 2019 HC job? There was some pontification over Laval's Glen Constantin a year or two ago. Could he be a consideration to bring in for a year to get his pro feet wet as a Coordinator then promote him? Glen Constantin is not ...

Re: 2017 All Things Lions Marketing & Promotions

Fired off an email to the Lions expressing my frustrations at the last couple of seasons under Buono and his inept coaching staff. Asked them for reasons why I should give them $2,000 for another season of boring football. IMO, the Lions organization has real big ones asking their remaining season ...
