Re: Grey Cup Tickets - Heads Up
I'm told that a group of people who sit near me in Section 53 have already scooped up 16 GC tickets but they're scattered all over the stadium. I couldn't find any information on the advance sales but I still might join them on the trip.

Re: Matt Morencie signs with Lions
Don't expect the Lions to trade a lineman to Edmonton. The Esks have a dozen O-linemen, and new coach Richie Hall says he likes it that way. “I believe we are at 12 offensive linemen right now. Are we heavy at that number? No,” said Eskimos coach Richie Hall, dodging most questions faster than Patri...

Re: TSN: CFL unveils new rule changes based on fan suggestions
Can someone explain the "wildcat" formation ? Over to you Blitz In case Blitz has other things on his mind . . . . http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wildcat_formation That's a great description, and up to date with the latest CFL rule change allowing the Wildcat. The Wildcat works best when on...

Re: Jackie Parker as a Lion
I was there for all the home games that year but I can't recall all the details. I just recall that Parker looked old and slow and out of shape. He was an emergency replacement at that point for the more athletic Paul Brothers. I regret that I never saw Parker in his prime.

Re: charles roberts
Joe Smith was the best blocking RB the Lions have had for a long time. His contribution to keeping the quarterbacks off their backsides was underappreciated. After he was traded, Lyle Green was given a bigger role as a blocking back on second down, but his role became predictable. If Logan was in th...

Re: What are Jamall Lee's chances of sticking with the NFL?
Mike Beamish has more post-camp reaction from Jamall Lee in Monday's Vancouver Sun, including this compliment from Carolina wideout Steve Smith: Steve Smith, the fleet, go-to receiver of the Carolina Panthers, paid Jamall Lee the kind of compliment that can leave an NFL rookie walking on air. "...

Re: What are Jamall Lee's chances of sticking with the NFL?
Here's a lengthy, flattering American interview with Lee after the Panthers' minicamp wound up Sunday. Not surprisingly, he says he hopes to stick with the team. By MIKE CRANSTON AP Sports Writer CHARLOTTE, N.C.(AP) -- Jamall Lee's hometown team liked him so much they traded up to take him No. 3 ove...

The Lions got Montreal DL Jonathan Pierre-Etienne in the fifth round. CFL scouting had him ranked in the top 15 players available.

Re: Any predictions for tomorrow's draft?
Wow. We pick up Matt Morencie in the 3rd round, a player whom many had a Top 5 pick! Obviously his stock dropped - not sure why - but he obviously has huge upside potential given the forecasts. I can't believe he was still around this late. DH I don't think the Lions were looking for O-line depth b...

Re: The CFL Draft, and Jamall Lee - Lowell Ullrich
Offences are getting more sophisticated by moving players around in the formation. The Wildcat has caused a stir in American football and the Lions are trying to create similar mismatches this year within the limitations of the CFL rules. Jamall Lee is a fast, highly skilled athlete who could be dan...

Re: BC Place to have Ribbon projection boards circle the stadium
Thanks 60, or 120 or 45 ... I was curious and looked up the bid documents. This is strictly for the football season. The system must be installed by June 20 for the CFL season, removed for the Olympics and then reinstalled afterwards. This is a big improvement over the two small scoreboards o...

That was my thought. As a first-round pick, he'll get every opportunity to get in the lineup.korey&dante4ever wrote:Speaking of former lions players that may/may have not been affected by the weekends draft... Amos Allen 5'8" 185 soaking wet, and stretched on the rack. Damian Sims 5'9" 200. Emmanuel Marc 5'10" 205. The Lions must be going through Stefan Logan withdrawal symptoms. Although Sims and Marc are more like the size of Emmitt Smith and NFL types like that. Sims has good bloodlines...

Re: NFL Draft odds 'n ends as of pick 117.
Anybody heard of Graham Harrell out of Texas Tech? A co-worker of mine (Texan) just told me that he didn't go in the draft and he was well suited to the CFL. His stats look pretty good on the Texas Tech website. He was bugging me that he was going to put a bug in the ear of the "crotch of Cana...
