Re: Should the Washington Redskins Change Their Team Name?
I went to school with Ned Blackhawk. Good guy. Liked his sports.

Re: what a pathetic species we are
Not really sure what the big deal is. You've been able to buy liquor in grocery stores in Ohio since the early 1990s. This place isn't any more depressing now than it was then, and it saves those who choose to purchase a great deal of time. This is opposed to the New Hampshire model where the state...

Re: Where is West Coast Joe?
Much like Joe, I kind of just stopped posting. I just wasn't getting much out of it, and that is more about me than the site. I've taken a big step back from being a somewhat regular poster. I still am a fan of lb and have nothing but good feelings about the site, but I don't really miss posting and...

I am sure you have the right to say no to the ceremonial game ball.
The reason it comes off the cheque is because players cannot receive any extras that are not counted on the salary cap.

Re: Official NFL Thread 2012 - 2013 -- Seahawks beat 49ers
Romo is a top 10 QB, but certainly has flaws.
I don't see Dallas upgrading him and dumping him. Drafting OL 1-2 this year would be the best thing for them.

Re: Official NFL Thread 2012 - 2013
Romo has been great the second half, pulling the Cowboys out of the fire several times. He isn't going anywhere. I think Flynn would be a good get for somebody. Vick is likely gone, as is Reid in Philly. Jacksonville has QB issues, as does KC. Some other teams like Tampa and Minnesota might, but don...

Re: Bills Player Hates Playing In TO
Toppy, doesn't baseball have broader anti-trust legislation and a Canadian team? I don't see how one or two disenchanted markets could sway Congress. I don't see Rogers renewing. I think it was Ted's deal at heart, and he is dead. By all accounts it has made money for the Bills but not Rogers. I thi...

Re: Lulay's Streak Intact
It's sometimes ridiculous what athletes will do to keep a streak alive. Garry Unger of the St. Louis Blues was questionable for a game due to an injury but he dressed and "played" a couple of shifts to keep his ironman streak alive. I remember Steve Garvey would start at 1B for the Dodger...

Re: Lulay's Streak Intact
Rammer, for me, in football, a streak like this implies that every time the bell rang, the player answered it.
I know consecutive games for a receiver with a catch isn't scored this way, but it might be more interesting if it were.

Re: Lulay's Streak Intact
I like Lulay, but part of the challenge and accomplishment of a streak like this is staying healthy. I don't care for the ruling. It is an interesting take alright, but without the opportunity to get into the game and complete the streak may also constitute a healthy Lulay getting rested in a game ...
