Re: Alouettes @ Lions, Game Day Thread, September 8, 2012

Attendance 29,700 Defending Grey Cup champs. Battle of first overall and a beautiful fall day, a crowd of under 30,000 is a litle bit concerning to me. A crowd of almost 30k against an eastern team is a good sign imo. An afternoon game gives the Lions the ability to attract fans from the Thompson/O...

Re: Alouettes @ Lions, Game Day Thread, September 8, 2012

Some interesting storylines here: What adjustments have been made during the week (by both teams)? How can we get to Calvillo? Montreal deployed extra men along the O-line last week, and did a good job of neutralizing our linebackers. Only one sack (Smith). Can the addition of Reddick help our blit...

Re: Who Doubles up on the Double Headers?

Esks/Stamps was an enjoyable game to watch but I just couldn't decide which team to cheer for as in which team is more of a threat to the Lions. Esks have a scary D, but Stamps are a more balanced team overall. Bomber players were embarrassed last week so i see them turning things around this week. ...

Re: Will Geroy Simon Reach 1000 Yards?

Lulay and this offence spreads the ball around more than most so the Lions could end up being one of the leading passing teams but with no slotback or wide receiver getting 1000 yards or making the all star team.

I got a feeling that the guys doing the film study, i.e. other teams' coaches, aren't going to stop double teaming Simon any time soon. If they do: :yahoo:

That is an alternate reality, Blitz. Disney World or maybe The Twilight Zone. But a cute story, and a lot of work. A great story Blitz, your best writing. It could have been an episode of Fantasy Island, with Ricardo Montlebaum (sp) as the team owner and Tatoo as the waterboy (appologies to ...

Re: Midseason stats - 2012 version

Pro football is all about "What have you done lately" and that goes for stats too. So the stats of the last few games are way more important than stats from 8 or 9 games ago unless trends and performance from the start of the season have remained constant. Not sure I agree with this. The ...

Re: Esks vs Stamps

You can't blame TSN for showing the game that will give them the highest viewership ratings.

I don't get the need for these CFL replays anyway. I PVR the games, watch them on a 15 or 20 min. delay so I can fast forward thru the commercials and then save the games that I want to replay.

Re: The Offensive....Line....

I'll say it before someone else does, bench Valli and put in Kabongo. At least if Kabongo whiffs his block, he is so wide it will take the opponent an extra half second to get around him and Lulay gets extra time. :dizzy:

Re: Alouettes 30 - Lions 25 Post Game Stats and Comments

Most of Lulay's deficiencies would vanish with better O line protection. Teams are keying on Harris as he is the Lions best weapon, so maybe the strategy was to break some tendencies and us other weapons more. It didn't seem to work. :2cents:

Re: Bombers fire head coach LaPolice

In football, as in life, timing is everything. Bet Joe Mack wishes he had waited one week before firing LaPolice. I thought it was bad optics to fire the HC after a strong game but tough loss to BC, but now after this disaster it looks like LaPo did not "lose the room", but Mack sure has a...

With the 3 games in 13 days or whatever I don't understand why they didn't put Norman in for at least some plays in the last two games.
