Re: WSF: Lions vs. Stamps

Lions need to spend the time off developing/practicing some new plays that have nor been used or seen by other teams this season.

Re: Lions vs. Stamps Oct. 20, 2023

OK, here is the statistical silver lining: If the Lions had won tonight that would have meant that they beat the Stamps 3 times this season and then if they meet in the playoffs (likely) they would need to go 4-0 against the Stamps this season; highly unlikely. So now with this ultra embarrassing lo...

Re: Lions vs. Stamps Oct. 20, 2023

Lack of a run game, inability to stop the run, unreliable short yardage game means the Lions will be going nowhere in the playoffs. The Lions letting James Butler go in free agency with no adequate replacement represents Campbell's worst decision as Lions HC. Butler was the 2nd leading rusher in the...

Re: Lions vs. Stamps Oct. 20, 2023

I would like to see Adams start, just to test his knee, but have Evans take most of the snaps.

Re: Nathan Rourke may dress

Jags looked good in the 1st half but the O bogged down a bit in the 2nd half. At no time did Lawrence look like his knee was bothering him.

Re: Nathan Rourke may dress

Updating - as you may have read - Nathan Rourke has now been moved to the active roster for Jacksonville and will dress for the Thursday game against the Saints. With Rourke dressing and it being a short practice week, does that mean Trevor Lawrence will not dress or does it mean Jags will be dress...

Re: The Last Two Games - What to do?

With a bye week after Friday, I can perhaps see how the staff wouldn't want VA to be too rusty going into the West Semi (or even more unlikely, the West Final), so to play him for a quarter or so seems reasonable. But to trot him out for an entire game given how he could barely put any weight on hi...

Re: The Last Two Games - What to do?

You gotta win both games. Winnipeg Blue Bombers After an injury to Winnipeg Blue Bombers starting quarterback Kevin Glenn in the 4th quarter of the CFL East Division Final on November 18, 2007, Dinwiddie was pressed into action. He made his first CFL start for the Blue Bombers against the Saskatche...

Interesting in the post-game show Coach Campbell ignored Moj's call to talk about "all the adversary".
Ignoring anything Moj says is usually the right call.
What? Are you saying you don't want to know where Moj had lunch or what ate or his take on some TV show or movie?

Re: Lions at Ticats Oct. 13, 2023

I don't expect the Lions to be able to just flip a switch and come up with a running game that has been missing all season. So, screen passes, bubble screens and short passes to Hardy and Cottoy are the answer, imo.

Re: Chase Claypool

Claypool is another in a long line of players whose career was cut short because of attitude. There are so many very good players coming out of the NCAA each year that unless a player is a top draft pick or exceptional talent, the number of second or third chances evaporates pretty quickly. That sa...

Re: Bombers-Lions: The Showdown

Lack of a run game. I said it before but letting Butler go in free agency was a huge mistake. Mizzel is speedy but struggles at getting past first contact or even falling forward when hit.

The lack of a run game will be magnified when the Lions have to play outdoors in the playoffs.

Traded today to the Dolphins for a 6th round pick. If he can't thrive in that offense, there's little hope for him. He had been told by the Bears to stay home the last two weeks. https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/bears-trade-chase-claypool-to-dolphins Dolphins give up a ...

Re: Riders @ BC Sept 29, 2023

Good game against the Roughriders except the end where the D tried to prevent the game away. If we can't get the run game going and eat up the clock then I don't see how we can beat Winnipeg and Toronto. A short passing game (to Mizzell and Cottoy) can eat up the clock but an O line thrives on run ...

Re: Onside Punt for First Down

Perhaps the CFL should change the rule so that a punt needs to travel 10 yards (or whatever distance makes the most sense) before it can be recovered by onside players.
