Re: Closing Franchise Businesses in the Lower Mainland

I just heard that Ricky's and ABC family restaurants were sold recently. Not sure what company bought them but some of each brand locations are about to close. The ABC near Coquitlam Center will close at the end of this month. What the future holds for each brand is a little less clear. It will be ...

Re: Riders release Dominic Picard

Well, that was short lived. The Winnipeg Blue Bombers have just signed centre Dominic Picard, who was the Riders' Outstanding Lineman last year. I wonder what happens to Matthias Goossen who's a centre and their #1 draft pick last year (he played back-up most of the year to Steve Morley)? DH ...

Re: Grey Cup, GDT and Post Game Comments

It didn't appear that the Samp player would have made the tackle or even touched Banks. To say that he might not have influenced Banks thus changing the outcome of the return is more difficult. Would Banks have bubbled back a step seeing the Stamp closer without the block? This is something we'll ne...

Re: Moving the league schedule up a month? No way!

How about the season starting 2 weeks earlier but still ending in last weekend in November. The thought being allowing another bye week and / or less short weeks between games. Every season we seem to see more and more injuries. Faster, stronger players. Would this help players get less injuries and...

Re: Alouettes 50 - Lions 17, Post Mortem, No Stats

Glenn is not a QB that will win often by taking the team on his shoulders. He's a QB that needs to be surrounded by very good talent around him so that he can manage games within his limited skill set. He wins games during the season but if you honestly review his actual playoff games, you will see ...

Re: Alouettes 50 - Lions 17, Post Mortem, No Stats

Glenn has always seemed to play really badly in the playoffs. His record is abysmal it important games. I can't seem him being a Lion in 2015. Whether there are any takers for his services even as a free agent, I'm not sure. There are always comments about him being the best backup insurance QB, but...

Re: Bombers and Coach O'Shea

Many Bomber fans were calling for Marve to be put into the game. While I understand they didn't want to see Willy continue getting beat down as he had all season. OTOH, we were withing 1 score of winning the game. Keep in mind I'm not saying we deserved to win but were at least in a position to win....

Re: Bombers and Coach O'Shea

. We've been let down even more by our ST coaches. As always, the first question I ask when I see this is, is it really a function of coaching, or is it first and foremost a product of a lack of talent/depth due to poor player personnel acquisitions? ST problems are a combination of both I agree. H...

Re: Bombers and Coach O'Shea

Bomber fans knew we lacked talent on the OL, DL and our LB's were too small. Add to that inconsistency at receiver and RB, we are not surprised on this major slide. However, going into TC most felt both our OC and DC were not up to the task. We've been let down even more by our ST coaches. Now there...

Re: Travis Lulay? Have we seen his last game?

IMO the Lions must re-negotiate his contract. The new SMS is irrelvant. You have to plan the roster around the budgeted salaries. If you " plan " his current salary into the mix it may mean not being able to re-sign other players to extentions etc. If he ends up on the IR to start the sea...

Re: Bo knows Lions - Lokombo in the fold.

No chance he plays LB for us unless we are desperate with injuries. He plays special teams with next 2 years, and maybe tries out a safety. LB is an american position, because if a guy gets hurt, you need a really really good back up basically just good to step in. Glenn Jackson, Kevin Konar, Greg ...

Re: Darian Durant - Out For The Season

It's a bit ironic that his injury occured on a play blown dead where normally all players hear it and stop play. It's been a difficult season for QB's. The injuries to Lulay and Durant are both to the throwing arm / shoulder and sometimes the result is a permanent reduction in longterm playing abili...

Re: Travis Lulay -- Thoughts and Prayers

Very unfortunate news to be sure. Travis may want to re-hab and play again but I don't know that any team will take the chance of him being a starter for them next year. I don't see the Lions looking / wanting to trade him or other teams willing to trade for him based on the injury developments. Tha...
