Iannuzzi is a Harvard-educated investment adviser with RBC. He can make a lot more money in that field than in a football-related job.
With those qualifications he might be on the short list whenever it is that Randy Ambrosie decides to step down as Commissioner! :tease:

Re: QB, now what?

Wally says he wants (needs?) Travis on the sidelines. Just wondering the logistics of getting a guy on a plane to Calgary who has just shredded his knee. I know it's only an hour in the air, but it's a tight commercial flight.....and I can't imagine it's too good for the swelling either. Maybe they...

Re: Back Support for Lions Supporters

I wouldn't say they were common but yeah, we used them at old Empire. Our seats were in the far northeast corner, section EE, aka the CKNW 98 Club. Back in the day the seating was basically a wooden plank (painted 2x8?) and your back would get sore from lack of support so these would make it a bit m...

Game programs - 70's & 80's

Cleaning out another closet has yielded a treasure trove of old BC Lions programs, free to a good home. Not in purrfect condition, but not falling apart, either. PM me if you are interested so we can arrange getting them to you. In no particular order: June 9, 1985 vs Calgary “CFL Illustrated All-St...

Where to watch in New West

I need to be in New West for an event near the Quay at 3:30pm this coming Saturday so I'm curious if anyone knows of a good place to go afterwards to watch the game. Since I don't drink a restaurant would be preferable but a pub would work out OK, too. If I grab Skytrain to get home after my event i...

Re: Eskimos vs. Lions June 24, 2017

In my past, I have been accused of being pedantic and I will freely admit that I am. And I realize that in the grand scheme of things it is human nature to be lazy about how we use our language, but I'm afraid I have reached my limit on this one and I must speak out about it. The player the Lions re...

Re: Jason Arakgi announces retirement

As I headed up the ramp out of BC Place a thought popped into my head - "I wonder if this will be Jason Arakgi's last season?" So weird that it came true so soon, but congratulations Jason. I'm glad you left on your own terms after a solid career. A true professional, and if it wasn't for ...

I loved the annnouncer-less CBC telecasts. I always watch sports with the sound turned off. I don't need a pompous broadcaster to tell me what I'm seeing.
Or, as in the case of Rod Black, what he thinks he saw. :tease:

Re: All-Canadian (National) B.C. Lions Dream Team

Just an addendum to my post of last Sept 23rd regarding Kent Spencer: We lost Kent on May 17 after a brief battle with cancer. I am proud to have been his friend, classmate, and teammate.

Re: Mike Edem Trade

I will admit my expectations about Edem were probably a little too high, but he was spectacularly bland at safety. If we need a Canadian starter in the secondary, I'm not against the idea of using Keynan Parker on the corner. IMHO he was not a liability at any time. As a former kicker myself, I'm mo...

Re: Orridge Steps Down as CFL Commissioner

Let me toss in my :2cents: worth: While we're considering former CFL players, how about someone who played in over half the 9 CFL cities over 23 seasons and set records everywhere he went - Damon Allen? I know, I know, not a local fan favourite, but he won a Grey Cup for us and still holds several t...

Re: Throwback Thursday

It's interesting the Lions were allowed to adapt it to their colours, since the official Canada, Confederation, and Centennial dogwood logo appears to be 3 gold "C"s on a blue background. If I'm not mistaken, they were permitted to use team colours because they represent all of BC . At le...

Re: Vintage Lions jersey #66 up for auction on Ebay

Updated yesterday, the listing now shows that the #66 jersey was sold. I'm not familiar with Ebay so I don't know if that means someone actually paid $5K for it (with shipping) or the offer was removed or had expired.

Re: Jovan could be on his way out of the Den

Meanwhile, we could have (and still should regardless) drafted a kicker or traded for one - the logical choice would be Victoria's Quinn Van Gylswyk from the Riders who is behind Tyler Crapigna, and groom him. DH  THANK YOU DAVID! I thought I was the only one who advocates going after QVG! Hi...

Re: Should next Lions owner(s) consider a minor celebrity st

How about some famous former Lions to consider? According to the internet, Doug Flute is worth $10 million (USD) and Carl Weathers is worth $8 million. Then there's Cam Wake. In 2017, Wake will earn a base salary of $6,875,000, a signing bonus of $1,000,000 and a workout bonus of $125,000. Maybe he'...
