Wally's done a pretty good job there IMO - in terms of number of players who have made the roster plus getting some impact players (Glatt is about the best MLB in the league now IMO; Paris Jackson has been solid and maybe about to become a top CFL receiver; McKay-Loescher has shown he can play); hav...

Norm Fieldgate or Larry Crawford - even though they didn't win that award.

You never know when a young, unhearlded QB can come into the CFL and make a team and be impressive or even great when they get the opportunity - who here ever heard of Ricky Ray, Casey Printers or Buck Pierce before the start of the CFL TCs they started out in? The Als have Jesse Palmer in the wings...

Can't see Kidd getting a lot of interest from other CFL teams - maybe if he's prepared to take a decent pay-cut.

I don't recall him being listed as a NI when he was with the Argos; having played a bit of Junior ball in Canada doesn't qualify you as a CFL non-import - he played some college ball in the States - he would have to have spent at least 5 years residing in Canada before he turned 15 to qualify as a NI.

Dunno about weird or buried - slotbacks get most of the CFL pass catching glory these days as they get way more balls thrown their way usually; Thelwell has been pretty well the most productive CFL wide-out, cumulative, over the last number of seasons - and regardless of birth certificate; he's IMO ...

You are right if a Merv Fernandez clone came along, I think that Wally would find room for him. What the Lions have in their NI depth is exactly why I suspect that this is the route that it fall to. As in order to have an NI play any starting poistion you had better have a backup for him that has l...

Money and Paris Jackson/Gilles Colon/Josh Boden, his spot will have to be replaced via a NI receiver. Oh and KIA, factors have to fall into place for LION82 to make a nice spiral into S17, he would have to score on the correct endzone and even on the Opposition side of the endzone for the answer to...

The 64 team had 6 CFL all-stars (and they didn't name kickers back then - Beaumont was the top West punter) and Willie Flemming - maybe the all-time best CFL RB - didn't make the all-star team. And they won the GC by 10 points over a Ticat team that was 10-3-1 that season (compared to the mediocre E...

Yes - some other examples in the past - Benefield played for the 49ers for a year - a CFL rush end who was a linebacker but also more a special teams guy down there; Fred Perry made an NFL roster for a bit after having a great year on the Argos D - another quick CFL rush end type. So Wilson could s...

Keep in mind the expanded rosters in the NFL-- athletic defensive "tweeners" like Wilson can always carve out a niche as special team players on KO, KO Return, etc. Yes - some other examples in the past - Benefield played for the 49ers for a year - a CFL rush end who was a linebacker but ...

Let's not forget that Matt Kirk played DE for awhile too. This may give him the opportunity he needs to showcase his talent and get into the starting rotation. Could be a real boon to have 2 CDN DE starters ... Yeah I know - like we need more CDN starters - but it never hurts. Rick Foley was a CIS ...

I think the point is, the CFL has been treated like not so important before when we had to wait for TSN to finish showing some other sporting "event" (i seem to recall some Ricky Bobby going round the track thing had to finish, or was it tennis or golf ?) and so we missed the start of a CF...
