Re: 2015 TV viewership

Hey all, I think the CFL is a victim of cord-cutting as much as anything else. There was an article in the Huffington Post the other day that Canadians are getting rid of cable at seven times the rate they were at this point last year. Rogers lost 6.1% of its subscribers, and 153,ooo people dropped...

Re: Sekers running a poll on 1040 to get Wally to step down.

CardiacKid nailed it in the cleaning house thread: there needs to be a viable alternative. Buono is likely nearing the end of a long and hugely successful career. I am sure that he has thought long and hard about a succession plan, and suspect that he will willingly step down when he is confident t...

Re: Sekers running a poll on 1040 to get Wally to step down.

Tedford was supposed to succeed Wally as GM and HC as part of the succession plan. That is probably why Tedford is stuck listening to him. Although not official, I always thought that might be the case. Tedford probably biting his tongue all season long. Hopefully he gets more control next season I...

Re: Sekers running a poll on 1040 to get Wally to step down.

I don't buy that Wally is the root of all the Lion's problems. Get rid of him and "poof" we'll be back on the winning track. I doubt it's that easy and who would the Lions hire to replace him? Somebody new and exciting I guess, who might know what they're doing...but then again might not....

Re: Why so negative ...

When it takes a professional organization half a season to realize that an American rookie College grad as a LB/Rush End shouldn't be our starting DT (as we rank dead last in EVERY single Defensive category), then you begin to understand the FRUSTRATION here. I am not sure FRUSTRATION is always equa...

Re: Harris Basically Says Good Bye

Harris doesn't have the burst he once did ... I think he's lost a step. Its better to bring in a import back and have an unlimited supply of backups. Rather they spend Harris's $$$ on a Cdn O-lineman where you have some cdn depth. Exactly, just like the WC semi final on Sunday...when he, counting a...

Re: Sekers running a poll on 1040 to get Wally to step down.

Jeff Tedford said Monday he has a great relationship with Wally and leaned on him a lot this year but expects to exert more authority next year in the final year of his contract (and Wally's). That's a natural evolution for a first-year head coach who has been out of the league for so long. Change ...

Re: Harris Basically Says Good Bye

I'm genuinely curious what he means when he says he didn't get much back. He's well paid, loved by fans, and has been the most featured player in our offense for several years in a row. What does he want? Likely a contract that he believes reflects his value and past contributions, respect ( Wally ...

Re: Lions 9 @ Calgary 35 -- Post Game Comments

Stubler has won a Grey Cup in Calgary last season with an excellent defense, had the best defense in the CFL this season, we didn't score a touchdown in 4 games against Calgary this season....and yet Wally criticized Stubler publically before dumping him at the end of 2013 - and I was upset because...

Re: Lions 9 @ Calgary 35 -- Post Game Comments

I thought Andrew Harris gave his all once again. It seems many fans are not all that keen on him. And I expect Wally is not all that keen as well. Andrew would do well to move on, and find a more comfortable situation. Better run game. A GM that truly values him. Ottawa? Hamilton? Calgary? That wou...

Re: Lions 9 @ Calgary 35 -- Post Game Comments

Nik Lewis does not appear to be a fan of Andrew Harris. Fairly unusual to see a CFL player call out another, especially not having played each other recently. Although his bias is obviously rooted in his ties to his former team. Nik Lewis ‏@nikel18 · 17h17 hours ago Andrew Harris might be an averag...

Re: Lions 9 @ Calgary 35 -- Post Game Comments

This game reflected our season. Poor coaching on both sides of the football and special teams, bad penalties, and deficient in some key areas, personell wise. The Calgary Stampeders exemplify excellent coaching. They struggled all season long with lots of injuries and they still went 14-4. In this ...
