Re: Lions at Argos Oct. 8, 2022
Hollins is 6-0, 175 lbs. He's not quite as fast as Lucky Whitehead (who ran a 4.39 40 at his pro day), but has decent speed (4.49). He had a stellar college career at Eastern Illinois and suited up for four games with the Minnesota Vikings.

Re: What's with the Lions' Attendance?
Two games ago, 19,000 fans for Calgary in an important game. Last night, 17,000 for Ottawa. In contrast, Edmonton, the worst team in the West losing their 15th in a row at home, got 24,000 out for today's game against Montreal. So, you're saying football is a bigger attraction in Deadmonton than in...

Re: 2022-23 NFL/Seahawks Season Thread
Interesting and pretty stunning season opener tonight for the Seahawks--17-16 over the Broncos. A real surprise as the 'Hawks were 6.5-point underdogs. A good game for Geno Smith and the defense particularly. The box score greatly favored the Broncos, out-gaining the Seahawks by a wide margin, but t...

Re: Nathan Rourke's brother (and Chase Brown)
I think his name is Kurtis Rourke.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kurtis_Rourke
He didn't have a good game against Penn State today--14 of 30 for 119 yards. Penn State 46-10. Still, Ohio was vastly over-matched against a good Big 10 team.

Re: Rourke to undergo surgery
I must admit that I haven't been following the Lions closely recently, and so I'm wondering what the scoop is on Michael O'Connor. He's a big guy and evidently played for UBC. How much of a drop-off is the offense likely to take with him in for Rourke? They still have some of the best receivers in t...

Re: 2022-23 NFL/Seahawks Season Thread
Hey, Robbie, thanks for getting this thread started. The 2022 season looks like a pretty bleak one for the Seahawks, with a 4th-place finish in the NFC-West likely. The biggest question is which of Geno Smith and Drew Lock will end up the No.1 QB. However, there's also a chance that they may try to ...

Re: Lions at Riders Aug. 19, 2022
Low or High, and that seems likely, that’s at least a month with two losses incoming against Calgyra. You can kiss any thoughts of a home playoff game goodbye. A shame, really. Wow! Given what we know at this point, think you may be hanging the crepe a little early? What rehab facilities and...

Re: Elks vs. Lions Aug. 6, 2022
One of the things that I like about Butler is that while he is only 5'9", he is 210 lbs. A short stocky build and the quick feet means he is the right size to get lower than a DE or blitzing LB and then block with leverage. Yes, good point, Dano. In fact, Butler's size is very common (almost p...

Re: Elks vs. Lions Aug. 6, 2022
i have to agree with earlier posters who are concerned about the Lions' run game. Butler is a decent back, although not, I'd argue, a really exceptional one. I hope he'll prove me wrong in future games. He has a 4.5 yds./carry average so far this year, which is quite decent, and even a little ahead ...

Re: 2020-21 NFL/Seattle Seahawks Season Thread
Well, another completely dismal performance from the defense. I thought the D-line played better, racking up some sacks, but, man the secondary was porous. I think the Seahawks have decent safeties in Adams and Diggs, but the play they're getting from the corners is pretty bad. Part of this poor pla...

Re: 2020-21 NFL/Seattle Seahawks Season Thread
Yes, the defense played better, despite being without their top safety and corner. They managed some pressure from the line and 'backers. They should get stronger on defense with some players coming back from injuries and a couple of new acquisitions. The hope is that Jamal Adams will be back for th...

Re: 2020-21 NFL/Seattle Seahawks Season Thread
A disappointing outcome in last night's game. The Seahawks have won quite a few of these one-score/down to the last second games in the past, and so perhaps it's fitting that they lose one. Despite racking up 588 total yards (normally enough to win just about any game), Russell Wilson had a bad nigh...
