Re: TSN all-time Lions team

4) not a restriction but i think each team had an inspirational builder type player.. who would the lions be? (and the player is not one already on the main team)........ hebeler and passaglia seem great if they weren't already on team.... can't think of the obvious person beyond those 2. Easy choi...

Re: Eskimos: change your name

Do you remember of cases in which a city had two sports teams with the same nickname? I easily remember that for the city of St. Louis from 1960 to 1987, both their NFL football team and their MLB baseball team were named the Cardinals. Until some time in the 1960s there was a Toronto Maple Leafs b...

Re: Day 1 of the new XFL today (saturday)

I switched on the Tampa Bay-Seattle game in the 4th quarter and in the first two plays witnessed a QB miss an open receiver in the endzone on 3rd down, immediately followed by a botched snap field goal attempt on 4th down. 14-9 final. Marc Trestman is now 0-2 in the XFL. Chicago Bears fans would ra...

Re: Coaching staff announced.

We shouldn't underestimate the value some of these journeyman backups and 3rd stringers can bring in terms of potential as coaches. Signed Hufnagel, J. Milanovich, S. Jones, J. Dinwiddie, R. Also signed: Payton, S. Klingsbury, K. Taylor, Z. Garrett, J. McCoy, M. 3 current and 2 recent NFL HCs who s...

Re: Who Got the Better Coach - Ottawa or BC?

I voted both equal. However, both GMs are on thin ice and Desjardins's is probably thinner. Would LaPo be in line to end up as Coach and GM in Ottawa?

Re: Lions signings for 2020 - sixth QB added

The QB position is evolving in the CFL and NFL. It doesn’t make sense to dress three prototypical pocket passers and have two of them stand on the sidelines until injuries occur. I’d love to have a versatile athletic third QB who can be counted as a national or international and play special teams,...

Just a random half-related thought (about possible coaching staff hires -- in particular assistant coaches) does anyone know who's well-regarded or even coveted among our Canadian U SPORTS ranks?
Danny Maciocia, currently at UdeM, is rumoured to be in line for HC in Ottawa.

Re: 2019 CFL Season

Great see-saw game under way in Winnipeg between the Bombers and Stamps. Calgary leads 20-19 in the third quarter after the Bombers returned a missed Calgary convert attempt for 2 points. I've heard of that rule but never actually heard of it happening. How often does it happen? And it's a long way...

Why not put Carter in the secondary? The passing game is DOA so he's not needed on offence.
