Re: CKNW - Pierce to tryout for Texans
Your posts caught my attention. I hope my responses help shed some light on your concerns. What's wrong with being selfish when it comes down to the survival of our franchise WCJ??? The club isn't in any jeopardy because two players have signed in the NFL. What's wrong with looking out for one's ow...

Re: Getting Ready For The Riders
Our Leos had a players only meeting on Tuesday....the second one of the season... If they had to have a second player meeting, it can only mean that the first player meeting didn't work - or it wore off or something. Which kind of tells you that player meetings must not work in the first place. But...

Yes, I'm quite happy with our selection in POTUS, thank you very much. Obama makes Harper look good now? Explain please.prairielion wrote:Really too bad to see how things have played out. I hope that the Americans are happy with who they have elected. Really makes Mr. Harper look very good now.

Re: Does a falling Canadian Dollar affect the future of the CFL?
Final little q, i was under the impression that dual citizenship comes with a slight test, in which you are required to make a decision on what citizenship you want to keep. I have dual citizen friends that were forced to decide to either be american or canadian, but maybe that has since changed. A...

Re: Does a falling Canadian Dollar affect the future of the CFL?
If you're coming from the American system of football, then yes, I think so. With a wider field and a yard off the LOS, there is some wiggle room that allows athletes to showcase their raw athleticism, that perhaps wouldn't be the case in a structured format. In my experience, for example, the DE's ...

Re: Does a falling Canadian Dollar affect the future of the CFL?
Well, considering that I would be in need of income fresh out of college, the weaker dollar would definitely be a deterrent to play in Canada. When you factor in wire transfers, travel and taxes , a player's net income wouldn't be much to hold them over in the off-season. That definitely has to mak...

Re: Does a falling Canadian Dollar affect the future of the CFL?
Hey BC Fan. It remains to be seen how this will affect everyone individually since the dollar(s) just slumped within the past month. I live here year-round. Aside from the obligatory visit to see relatives in Florida, I don't travel that much anymore. It will be tough for guys who haven't establish...

Re: Does a falling Canadian Dollar affect the future of the CFL?
Great question! This topic has been talked about a lot at practice lately. We're paid in CDN $, so it won't have much affect, if any, on the cap. It will have an affect on those players that don't live in Canada year-round. A lot of us got spoiled in the past two seasons with the Loonie being at pa...

Re: Does a falling Canadian Dollar affect the future of the CFL?
I thought this time I would ask a good, juicy question that everyone can sink their teeth into. Does the falling Canadian dollar affect the future well-being of the Lions and the CFL from a financial point of view? I believe the majority of the players are paid in U.S. and revenues come through in ...

BCLions16- the $2 billion is the pure Iraq fighting costs as provided by the US gov't. Yes, there is more cost. To the guy who dismissed the poor because there will always be some poor, that is true, but that doesn't diminish a nation's duty to provide education, health care and basics to its own f...

Re: Timbits Football Camp
I'm not being critical of anybody. I'm engaging the fanbase via this forum. I see it as a total fan/player experience whether good or bad. There are a lot of things that go on, on the field, which people jump on w/o knowing the five w's. If I can help clarify some of those things, than I'm happy to ...

Re: Timbits Football Camp
If by fairweather fan you mean someone who spent $200 that I didn't really have to travel from the Island to welcome you guys back from Winnipeg in the freezing cold pouring rain, and who painstakingly helped make copy after copy of game DVD's, then I guess I'm guilty as charged. As fans and member...
