It's not newsworthy enough to deserve its own thread but the Lions have a vacancy at the bottom end of their coaching staff. Danny O'Brien is leaving for a coaching job with Penn State.

Re: Randy Ambrosie optimistic about 2021
Guessing you were a fan of the Gil Thorp comic strip back in the day. They did a good job following the different seasons. I had a friend who was pasting the daily strips into a scrap book for a while. Can't say as I have even heard a name for the former XFL to date or any update for that matter. P...

Re: 2021 CFL free agency
Would be real interesting to see what Pocrnic could do - IF he gets a real shot to compete at tailback; maybe he gets thought of as a safety or slotback project instead, if Wally can chime in on the matter ? As is always the case he'll get as many drill reps as all the other tailbacks. He'll get lo...

Re: 2021 CFL free agency
In football, the same is true for defensive end play, cornerback, etc. - switching sides is a challenge. Now have you finally got rid of that right handed slapshot Hambone? Panes of glass were never at risk to my shot Blitz even back when I was in leagues that allowed a slapshot. If I tried a slaps...

Re: Randy Ambrosie optimistic about 2021
Thinking about the XFL and how many viewers would be watching if there were a game today. Only thing better would be if there were two. I guess I'm a traditionalist because I believe sports are seasonal and should stay that way. I find it hard to be interested in a sport played outside it's normal ...

Re: Braley Wants to Sell Lions
Hambone and David, I hope that you are right, and I certainly don't have any information that would suggest otherwise. But it's not hard to see how this situation could go sideways--all it takes is one or two disgruntled people. If forced to choose between blood, money, and the Lions, I don't like ...

Re: Braley Wants to Sell Lions
In most cases, I would agree with you maxlion. However, Braley's family knows how much the club meant to David. I don't think they want to sell for $1 just to get rid of a depreciating asset. The money set aside (and I'm hearing it should see them through 2-3 years of operation) is to find the righ...

Re: Randy Ambrosie optimistic about 2021
It's February 25, certainly no reason to push the panic button (yet). But we're being fed seemingly empty and optimistic promises by Trudeau and Ambrosie on vaccine distribution and the possibility of a 2021 season respectively, yet every morning I wake up and very little seems to be changing. Acco...

Re: Braley Wants to Sell Lions
I like the kdeas of the woodall Keith group with one change. After they buy the lions foit 1$ then they should sell half the shares at 100$ each to fans and we could end up a community owned team with a rabid fan base of owners. That would stoke community interest big time. The generated public ent...

Re: Braley Wants to Sell Lions
If the Riders can be used as an example the idea of purchasing shares may not be that lucrative. In the notoriously rabid Rider market where just about anything associated with the Riders is quickly gobbled up they have not been as easy a sell as one would expect. They offer a Class A share at $250 ...

Re: 2021 schedule
I believe Ambrosie and most league and team staff took a pay cut of at least 20%. That was well documented. Ambrosie and CFL executive staff took a 20% cut starting last April. That was only a few weeks after everything went kaflooey with Covid. https://3downnation.com/2020/06/18/cfls-executive-tea...

Re: 2021 CFL draft
I like the ideavbof getting the vyounger Lokombo. Hes done very well and it would make for good PR. Family connection playing together. Good talking points in the community. That might be a tough get. Lokombo's prospect status puts him in a spot that doesn't really fit with where BC's draft slots a...

Re: 3DownNation says 2021 Season May Not Happen
I don't think any franchises are sellable unless owners are willing to accept pennies on the dollar. For the beneficiaries of Braley's estate, it might be in their interests to get what they can now so they can recoup at least some of the money Braley set aside for the team. They won't get much for...

Re: 3DownNation says 2021 Season May Not Happen
The Riders lost money in 2019 and expected to use up all of their stabilization fund of $7.6 million in 2020, and that was before the season was cancelled. https://www.google.ca/amp/s/globalnews.ca/news/7104113/saskatchewan-roughriders-finances/amp/ first, they only lost money because the gave $1.2...
