Re: 2024 U.S. Presidential Election Thread

It looks like Biden referred to Trump as "his predecessor" or "a former President". In the end, Harris stood up and clapped as expected. Whereas Mike Johnson stood and clapped about only twice. In other moments, he gave a reluctant clap while appearing to hide his hands under his...

Re: 2024 U.S. Presidential Election Thread

Joe Biden will be making his State of the Union speech tonight. In a typical speech, the President's party (in this case Democratic) will clap and applaud after every statement, while the opposition (Republican) usually will not. The two people seated behind the President are the Vice President and ...

Re: 2024 U.S. Presidential Election Thread

After Super Tuesday in which Trump has won all the states with the exception of Vermont and previously Washington DC, Nikki Haley has formally suspended her presidential campaign.

So definitely a rematch from the 2020 U.S. Presidential Election.

Let's see who Trump will select as his running mate.

Re: 2021 Canadian Federal Election Thread

RIP Brian Mulroney (March 20, 1939 – February 29, 2024) Any thoughts and memories of him? He was very popular in 1984 when he and his Progressive Conversative party won a landslide with the reason being that Canadians were very tired of the Liberal party. He continued to be very popular in 1988 when...

2024 Saskatchewan Roughriders ad - Sexist

Despite all the political correctness in this day and age as well as the sensitivity with regards to taboo and controversial issues such as those related to sexism, racism, and sexual orientation, it's very disappointing and shocking that the Saskatchewan Roughriders would publish a new 2024 ad with...

Re: 2023-24 Vancouver Canucks/NHL Season Thread

It was almost time to press the panic button after a four game losing streak.

But great comeback win over the Bruins to break the four game losing streak. May the win start a trend if winning games again. :cr:
Interesting to see the green men again for that game.

Re: 2024 U.S. Presidential Election Thread

Nikki Haley fails to win the primary of her own state of South Carolina. This all but secures Trump of winning the 2024 Republican Party nomination. It will be interesting to see who he will select as his running mate, and whether it will be one of the candidates who were originally running for the ...

Re: 2023-24 Vancouver Canucks/NHL Season Thread

The old line of Markus Naslund and the Sedins were nicknamed the IKEA line. The current line of Elias Pettersson, Elias Lindholm, and Nils Höglander are very hot now. Will they be the next IKEA line? Or how about naming it the Tre Kronor line after the national emblem of Sweden? https://upload.wikim...

Too bad that the Kansas City Chiefs celebration parade was marred by a mass shooting killng 1 and injuring at least 21 others. Gunmen were 2 juveniles. -------------------- Seahawks paid Geno Smith $12.7 million to retain him for the 2024 season. But there's still a small chance that he may be trade...

Re: 2023-24 NFL/Seahawks Season Thread

Rather defensive Super Bowl LVIII with the 49ers controlling most of the game in the first half and limiting Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs to just 3 points but if it wasn't for their own mistakes, the could have gotten more than just 10-3 lead at halftime. Serious mistakes on both sides but more co...

After two game losing streak, good that the ;canucks: ended the losing streak with a win in Washington with 5 seconds left in OT. ---------------------- Neither the San Jose Sharks nor the Golden State Warriors played today, so no foreshadowing of the fate of the San Francisco 49ers in the Super Bow...

Re: 2023-24 Vancouver Canucks/NHL Season Thread

Good to see that the ;canucks: have picked up where they left off with a 3-2 win in Carolina to extend their points streak to 12 games. And just as importantly, Elias Lindholm has immediately showed his presence to the team after the trade by scoring the first two goals.
