Re: 3DownNation says 2021 Season May Not Happen
TBH, I have never felt there would be a 2021 season and I really wonder if the league will return, at least as we know it. I've kind of thought that the league will have to fold, and allow TSN or maybe even the Rock to buy it on the cheap and start it up when they can have fans in the stands. That ...

Re: Ed Hervey leaves Lions for "personal reasons"
I've been doubtful from the start that the league returns. All of their flaws have been exposed by the pandemic. Player recognition was hard enough year over year and with a missing season or more, I have trouble seeing a financial model that will make this work without serious change. I believe if ...

Re: Who Will Be First to be Fired
It should be both, tbh. Hervey has taken a promising team from a few years ago and gone backwards. The coaching staff was abysmal this year, and nowhere was that more apparent than on offensive line. Claybrooks seems likeable but he looked like he was in way over his head. A more experienced coach ...

Re: New Rule Change effective immediately
This is a big step in the right direction. Clearly Ambroise read my post in the other thread and followed my advice! This shows both wisdom and humility :tease:
However, it's only the first of what I hope are quite a few more steps in the right direction. If a coach can still challenge PI, we will ...

Re: Video Replay
The worst change every made to the replay is the ability to review pass interference. I have never understood why they did this, as it just leads to all sorts of "what the hell" challenges like last night. Last night's mistake by the command centre legitimately changed the course of the game. This ...

Re: Condolences to Geroy and Family
Terrible news. Tracy used to sit in my section for Lions games. Met her a few times, always friendly, and a big part of the Lions community. Condolences to Geroy and his family.

Re: CFL under fire for blown call....
No doubt Buono is kicking ass behind the scenes.
The whole excuse about there not being enough evidence to overturn is patently absurd. The whole point of replay is that it provides exactly the evidence you can't see on the field. I can completely forgive the refs on the field for not getting this ...

Re: Leos/Bombers Post-Game Thoughts
Absolute garbage officiating from the opening drive to the end of the game. That last call literally gave the win to Winnipeg. There is no point in having a "Command Centre" if they can't make this call. My ten year old could see the ball was out. I wasn't even nervous when they were reviewing it ...

Re: Khalif Mitchell signed to Rider PR
This is an utter failure of leadership, once again, by the slow moving CFL. Under no circumstances should they have ever let the Riders even sign Mitchell to the practice roster. This is a bad look for everyone. Jones looks grossly incompetent for failing to do his due diligence here, and the CFL ...

Re: Khalif Mitchell signed to Rider PR
The twitter feed is disturbing, and you have to believe that the Riders organization didn't even bother looking at it before signing him because if they did, and they signed him anyway, well, I guess that's the difference between regular incompetence and gross incompetence.

Good luck with this, Riders. The backlash towards this move is already not worth the price of bringing him in.

Re: Nick Moore Gone for Season
It sucks to get injured on a celebration but if that's all it took to blow out his ACL, then it was only a question of when, not if it was going to happen. It's a bad look for Moore, but that's not going to change the injury from happening. Sorry to see him go and hope he recovers.

Re: Lions Losses. Lions Gains in Free Agency
Sol E was going to be an FA who I thought was going to try to go to the NFL this year. His achilles injury probably ruined that chance. So instead he takes a one year deal to prove he can still play and hopefully get one last shot in the NFL next year. If it doesn't work out, he can probably ...

Re: Harris Won't Be Back...Pretty Much Official
I wouldn't put too much stock into Wally's comments about going in a "different direction". That's just standard business speak for basically saying we don't see eye to eye and we don't want to work with you anymore. I doubt it has anything to do with Harris' numbers and more about the attitude and ...

Re: Good hot stove discussion on Province.com
I'm reasonably certain Tedford was getting a massive severance (something like 1.5 million USD for the next two years) from his last gig before he came to the Lions. The deal was that anything he got paid by the Lions deducted from his severance. So he really had zero motivation to continue in any ...
