Re: Official 2007-08 Vancouver Canucks Season Thread

Great win against powerhouse Detroit tonight. Now, if they could just continue this fine performance... :cr: haha I don't know if you could really call Detroit a powerhouse team right now. Not that there's any excuses in professional sports, but surely everyone can rest assured that against a fully...

Re: Official 2007-08 Vancouver Canucks Season Thread

Also is it safe to say that we've seen the last of Sanford between the pipes this year? Except for in emergencies?

Re: Official 2007-08 Vancouver Canucks Season Thread

I won't comment on the game it's self, as I rarely appreciate it when non-Flames fans rub salt in the wounds after a rough outing of theirs, but I do wonder about the post-game comments, specifically from Luongo (who arguably did not have one of his most stellar nights) when he said that it was time...

The GM is betting that the cap will continue to escalate, along with the player's performance. If both do not happen then he is sunk! Just how much more are you expecting Ovechkin to "escalate" his performance? If I'm Washington GM I'm VERY happy with his performance where it's at! All th...

Well if anyone in the Canucks organization had any pipedreams about somehow luring in and signing Ovechkin, that dream just went up in smoke. Ovechkin just signed a "mammoth" 13 year $124-million US contract extension. Looks like he's staying put for a while!

Luongo was voted into the starters position but won't commit to going to the game because of how the added travel of the trip to Atlanta would affect the already tight travel schedual he would be on. Actually, he's bowed out completely, and will miss the first game back as well - he's decided to be...

All seems quiet on the northwest front here, quiet especially when it comes to all-star voting. The Sedins barely registared despite assurances from Keslar the Provance that they are indeed All-stars and that every team in the Northwest division knows it  Yet when it came to fan voting even the...

That's a brutal shot of the ref having to go over and check on the Swedish goaltender who was still facedown on the ice after the goal.

On the bright side... Yeah baby!! Canada is golden!

Am looking foreword to the Canada v Sweden game, but I don't know how I am going to make it through this Bronze medal sleeper going on right now. Russia up 4-0 early in the second period, with the usa showing no signs of life, or of caring. Not surprising, but still a little disappointing. Oh well, ...

Nice thought and nice pictures, but Tampa Bay is a bad example. It's the thunder and lightning capital of North America (hence the hockey team's name). Even the baseball team plays indoors because there are thunderstorms every day in summer and it's not safe to be outside. Alright then, bust me on ...

Personally I've never had an issue with the dome, although Commonwealth on a nice summer evening wasn't a bad experience either, but I'd rather not be sitting there freezing my butt off in minus twenty. So you see what we need is for this global warming thing to kick into high gear! Then by the time...

Blast from the past

Alright, so technically 2004 wasn't so long ago, but some of you might remember a pretty little blonde Felion named Erin (whom I happened to go to high school with) anyways, she gave me permission to post this picture so everyone can enjoy. Erin is on the left in the picture, but I can't recall the ...

I was up to watch this morning's game, and it was worth waking up for, a very entertaining game, although I still have trouble getting used to the huge ice surface they play on. Looking foreword to Friday's match up with the US. GO CANADA GO!!

Canada beat Denmark 4-1 and will now play Finland in the quarterfinals. The winner advances to play the US, Robbie's team. Lion24 thinks my team is Sweden. Now I am just confused..........I thought Naslund, the Sedins and Oscar Meyer were your favourite players!!?? No, you're mistaken,...

Just shows what can happen when you have one of the top goaltenders in the world play as well as he is capable of playing and is supported by a team capable of scoring more than one goal in support. Best part was watching that little wanker Cooke get his clocked cleaned not once, but twice by ...
