You didn't get that choice though. You were still forced to pick a time for saturday afternoon. It's clear now we're going to get an afternoon game. I don't mind one (why we need that I don't know) as long as the rest are ALL saturday nights.
Surely there are a lot of fans who will prefer an ...

Re: BC Lions @ EDM Eskimos GDT - Oct 9, 2009
Good luck folks. Going to be a cold one (though I'll be in the hot tub for this one so I'm not complaining much  ).
Hopefully the sloppiness that has plagued both our clubs at one time or another this year (maybe more recently for us) disappears tonight. Would like to see a relatively well ...

Re: View from the East
Don't mean to put down BC fans or the Lions at all...but you aren't "taking one for the league" by getting Friday nights throughout the summer.
We here in Edmonton would kill (well, maybe not kill...but maim, at least) to have your home schedule. As bad as Fridays may be in BC...try two summers ...

Re: View from the East
Friday night games. The Lions are taking one for the league this year by playing on an unpopular night to satisfy the Friday Night Football TV commitment. Attendance for Saturday games over the years has been 3,000 to 4,000 higher but the Lions play only two Saturday games this year, including this ...

Re: Friday night: Riders
Rider fans only complain about $6.00 beers and Eric Tilman references on their forum. EE forum?...meh... The Lions forum is obviously much more interesting. :tease:
Life's pretty good when all you have to biotch about is $6 beer because it's overpriced and not even very cold :thdn:

I don't know what "false quote" you're referring to - those are my words in my post, not anyone elses. Miller could give a damn about what the score is in a pre-season game, as do I. And while it's no-one's fault that ol' sattelite-dish-ears has more CFL ...

Re: Friday night: Riders
For one night, I will be a Lions fan. Do me , and the rest of the world, a favor by kicking the living bejayzus out the Riders. Then sit back and watch a certain green and white website implode. :rockin:

Those look pretty sharp, indeed...looking forward to seeing them here on Jul 16.
Hopefully ours will be as good, too.

Re: Ryan Grice-Mullen vs. Davone Bess
Good thread. I was a big UH fan when those two were there...was happy for RGM when you guys picked him up, IIRC he played his first game in Edmonton, did fairly well for a rook.
And the funny part is that the best receiver of that group was Jason Rivers, who I heard was cut by the af2 Spokane ...

Re: Lions fans at Commonwelth October 17th.
That's what I was thinking. My brother lives in the Chuck and he always goes whenever the Lions are in town. Sure, he says he has to endure a bit of razzing from time to time but that doesn't dissuade him from going. I think the main thing if you're a Lions fan at CW is to avoid catching the ...

Re: Murphy & Romero fined by the CFL
It's amazing how this myth got started. The Lions O line became the best in the league, the riders thought their duty to knock 'em off and when they couldn't do it... they cryed dirty. Man I'm getting sick of these fans and this *poop*. How many eyeballs get close to being gouged out in a game or ...

Re: Murphy & Romero fined by the CFL
CFL.ca -> more -> 2008 rule book -> points of emphasis: "holding"
After an opponent has been pushed down or fallen upon by a blocker, he must not be prevented from rising from the ground.
What some people are more angry about is that this incident was a textbook example of such pinning, which ...

Re: Dear Tim Donovan...
Unfortunatly, the Tim Donovan's of this world seem to be in every stadium :bang: and that's why bringing a radio to the game and listening to the PBP coverage is one solution to help drown out the never ending noise of the paid mouthpiece.
Unfortunately, here in Edmonton the paid mouthpiece and ...

Re: Oct. 10 - Edmonton Eskimos at BC Lions Game Day Thread
Wally blew the call. He said in the post-game show that he knew the Lions needed two scores, but forgot the Esks could scrimmage after the field goal, not allowing the on-side kick. Wally admitted he made a mistake. Under CFL rules, I believe the Esks could of also elected to kickoff TO the Lions ...
