Re: Solly to retire from CFL - will continue to reside in Vancouver
Here's a sweet little nod from JC Abbott, remembering his first meeting/interviewing Sol E. https://3downnation.com/2021/02/13/unti ... elimimian/

Re: 2021 CFL free agency
Agreed; great change-of-pace potential, if platooning at TB. Yet, if I recall from his 2015--2018 span with us, one thing he wasn't consistently great at was remembering the play and/or his blocking assignments. He could be the cause of some coaches and on-field comrades tearing their hair out, now ...

Re: 2021 CFL free agency
Farhan Lalji has tweeted that Chris Rainey has be re-signed by the Lions. I was beginning to wonder if any of the veteran tailbacks would be back with us, though he's likely primarily back for kick-returner duty.

Re: 2021 CFL free agency
O.K. Here we go now... up-and-coming star Chris Casher has re-signed with us, here's hoping a couple of the other big D-line signings of last year follow.

Re: Bryan Burnham re-signs with BC
Here's Burnham one-on-one interview video with Matt Baker from the Lion's website; https://www.bclions.com/2021/02/01/1-on ... ck-orange/
Real nice reminder of all the reasons why so many of us wanted this to happen. A gentleman athlete for sure.

Re: Bryan Burnham re-signs with BC
I believe this signing gives us one of the best receiving corps in the league. Bryan Burnham and Lemar Durant at Slot Shaq Johnson and Dominique Rhymes at Wideout (plus rotational players such Jacob Scarfone, maybe Caleb Holley and Devon Bailey who are still unsigned and any street free agen...

Re: 2021 CFL free agency
Now if you could please while you're at it reach out to the Lions brass regards "updating" (so to speak) their free agent signings, i.e. them putting pen to paper in regards to BB16 I will say you should rightly consider your week's work done! Seriously though, thanks -- nicely done. Atten...

Re: Eskimos: change your name
Perhaps the team could change it's name to The Edmonton Jones. Apparently Scott Milanovich has resigned today and is rumoured to be going to Indianapolis Colts, and meanwhile Chris Jones (apparently on the outs in Cleveland) has lickety-split tweeted he'd like to be back with EE! Hmm...

Re: TSN all-time Lions team
I'll sneak in this article link regards one-time OL Rob Murphy chatting with J. Hodge of 3DownN. Back in the day I had my reservations about Murphy's character, but he was a very good player for us -- though he didn't make TSN's official list of All-Time Lions. I enjoyed this read, mainly because of...

Re: 2021 CFL free agency
An interesting and likely realistic take on the Lions secondary -- suggesting Grymes is as good as gone, and exploring what the secondary might look like. https://3downnation.com/2021/01/22/farh ... secondary/

Re: 2021 CFL free agency
Hambone, I'm trying to take some comfort in your comments/views anticipating the Burnham negotiations ending well, but it is a little troubling to note Farhan's wording, characterizing the two sides as "currently not close". One would hope they wouldn't be too far apart any more at this po...

Re: 2021 CFL free agency
Indeed, just what I was thinking, B.C.FAN! Pretty incredible! All we need do is get the likes of Branden Dozier (almost certainly not affordable) back at safety and we're really smiling so far as the secondary goes. I suspect a National needs to fill that slot. Guzylak-Messam comes to mind, but he I...

Re: 2021 CFL free agency
I see (Matt Baker no doubt) has created a handy 'free agency' page, to scroll through signings/articles at a glance, on the Lions' website.

Side note; see that Adam Bighill has re-signed in the Peg for a rumored (Farhan Lalji) 115k. Huge adjustment!

Re: 2021 CFL free agency
A three-year contract got me wondering, and more than a little surprised when I saw that to be the case with the Marcus Sayles deal, simply because it's uncommon anymore... and as it happened I stumbled upon this recent Dave Naylor piece featuring some cogent thoughts/comments on the matter of curre...
