Re: 2017 CFL Draft - What Players Will Our Leos Choose
I was more referring to Steward was always getting hurt at T, and he moved to guard and he had a relatively injury free season. I was just player specific, not generic to the position. Fair enough, although injuries are hard to predict. S*** happens. One of my previously mentioned ankle injuries ha...

Re: Jovan leaves the Den. Confirmation on Page 8.
The Montreal Als have signed Jordan Olifioye to a three year contract extension that locks Jovan up until the end of the 2019 season. Smart move on behalf of the Als, who won't have to deal with Jovan becoming a free agent until the end of the 2019 season. MONTREAL — The Montreal Alouettes have sig...

Re: 2017 CFL Draft - What Players Will Our Leos Choose
No, offensive tackles are not more prone to injury than guard. In fact guards tend to get injured more often because its more of a mess inside than outside, the defensive tackles are bigger and more powerful, and its also easier to get rolled up on inside, which is always an offensive lineman's fear...

Re: 2017 CFL Draft - What Players Will Our Leos Choose
Looking at Marshall Ferguson's latest mock draft, I would agree for the most part with his picks. The only thing I really disagree with is drafting a linebacker at #16. Although Herdman is a great player, and played at SFU, I think the first three picks we draft on the lines this year. If Herdman is...

Re: Who Will Rise and Who Will Fall in 2017
Lots of insight on this thread. I think I will hold off on my official predictions untill the season is closer, and untill training camp has past, and we have a clearer picture of the rosters of all teams. BC: Offence: The personell is pretty much the same as last year, essentially replacing Gore wi...

Re: Jovan leaves the Den. Confirmation on Page 8.
~ Jovan discussed how he had lost weight last season to be quicker at the left tackle position. Jovan also metioned what a very hard transition is is to switch from right tackle to left tackle. I wonder how many fans know how challenging it is. Everything is different than you've practiced and play...

Re: Rintoul is toast (grab the pitch forks and storm TSN 104
Not only is CTV the #1 TV news station in this market, it was also a major source of content surrounding the football club and the CFL. One more casualty to the omni-present internet for online content I suppose. :sigh: Of course, a whole Sports Dep't goes with this decision, so sympathies to them....

Re: Jovan leaves the Den. Confirmation on Page 8.
Olafioye's base salary, not including bonuses, was reported to have been around $200,000. If he earns all his bonuses, which he probably has every season he's played here, his contract likely approaches $250,000. While I will agree that he is one of the top three linemen in the league, he is just no...

Re: Jovan leaves the Den. Confirmation on Page 8.
When I first heard that the Lions were looking to trade Jovan, I was completely against it. He has been fantastic for us for 7 seasons, and last year, was an important piece on what I would say was probably one of the top 2 lines in the league. I have since come around on this trade, I still have a ...

Re: Jovan could be on his way out of the Den
Facault hasnt' started in a football game since he got out of college two seasons ago. He's been kicking around on practice rosters for two seasons with hardly any contact Just a quick correction, Focoult has started a regular season game for the Carolina Panthers, as well as appearing on the activ...

Re: Lions Running Attack 2017
I understand why zone blocking has become popular in the pro game. Rather than attempting to man block the many different fronts a defense can bring, zone blocking is simpler, as each offensive lineman uses angles to block defenders in zone areas. But when a team like our Leos basically either zone...

Re: Jonathan Jennings Second Full Season as a Starter
One thing about Wally is he has never stood in the way of players in their option years pursuing the NFL, and if they get the opportunity to play on the big stage, for more money good on them. If I'm not mistaken I believe Jennings' salary is set to increase in 2018 to about $300,000 should he stay ...

Re: Jovan could be on his way out of the Den
Maybe it's both $$$/SMS and wanting someone more than JO. Who? I don't know who Montreal has that we could possibly want, we're pretty set at reciever, and running back, Even if Jovan leaves we still have a pretty decent line. Really the question we have to ask is who/what does Montreal have that w...

Re: Jovan could be on his way out of the Den
Furthermore trading him to a team that could be in even worse shape cap wise than us, not sure how they are now, but if I recall Montreal had some widely publicized cap issues last season as well. Something just doesn't seem right, I wonder if something is up with Jovan, maybe he requested this trad...

Re: Jovan could be on his way out of the Den
If true, this would be very surprising for a number of reasons. 1 Wally is usually very responsible with the cap, and it is very unusual for him to go over the cap, let alone as a result of a free agent spending spree. 2. The timing is a little odd, the salary cap does not officially kick in until g...
