Re: Lions at Alouettes Sept. 9, 2022

O'Connor would probably be the first to admit that he was awful in his first CFL start. He will likely get other chances, maybe even this year depending on what happens with Adams. I agree that shouldn't be written off yet, but that is different from giving him the starting job now when he has shown...

Re: Lions at Alouettes Sept. 9, 2022

Hopefully Vernon Adams can show some of what made him a highly rated prospect and starting qb. It's obvious we will go nowhere with Pipkin and O'Connor. It's hard to judge other elements of the team when the qb is incompetent. The run game is shut down because the qb can't make passes. Receivers loo...

Re: Lions at Alouettes Sept. 9, 2022

Wouldn’t be surprised in the least if Williams makes minimal impact on returns and they determine Bonner is better use of an extra American next week. Hope I’m wrong. Still would have liked to have seen them start Adams. They have to be thinking he is their guy for huge upcoming home and home with ...

Re: Garrett Marino

With Collaros' history of concussions, a play like that could easily be the end of his season or even career. Extremely careless hit by Marino. He's a dirty player who seems to take pride in knocking star players out of the league. That he continues to be started by Saskatchewan shows a moral weakne...

Re: Farhan: Lions on verge of acquiring Vernon Adams

Adams has decent but not outstanding career stats: 62% completion rate, 43 tds to 26 interceptions, good runner. Recent injuries might have an effect. With the lack of depth at qb in the CFL these days, this could be a bit of a tryout for next year if Rourke goes NFL, but I think this move is all ab...

Re: Farhan: Lions on verge of acquiring Vernon Adams

I like this move. O’Connor and Pipkin are fine as short term solutions, but I didn’t feel confident that either could carry the team through half the season and the playoffs. VA plays a sandlot style of football which is not my preference but can be exciting and effective at times. In any case, not ...

Re: Rourke to undergo surgery

Looking at the remaining schedule, BC and Calgary both have 8 games remaining, and play each other twice. BC has 2 more wins than Calgary, so Calgary would need to win 2 more than BC and both games against BC, or win 3 more than BC if BC takes one of the 2 against Calgary. The good news is that Calg...

Re: Rourke to undergo surgery

Too bad. This has been the most exciting Lions team in a long, long time. Let's see what the future brings.

Re: Lions at Riders Aug. 19, 2022

What gets interesting if Rourke is to miss time is how that impacts the roster ratio. It would seem that if O'Connor backfills as starter no issues. But if they have to turn to Pipkin or Thomson then they lose that 7th NAT starter and have to adjust. That would most likely mean disrupting the OL an...

Re: B.C at Calgary Aug. 13, 2022

Rourke is getting a lot of credit for the yards, but watching the receptions, I’m not sure any other team can boast catches like the Lions corps are producing every game. One of the benefits of having a Canadian QB on a bargain contract is that you can surround him with a great receiving corp. No d...

Re: B.C at Calgary Aug. 13, 2022

What impresses me is Campbell is willing to take risks. I'm sure the players love that, especially with this youngish team. After the conservative Buono years, it is refreshing. He also knows how to play the clock and makes sound decisions when the game is on the line. Lol. The soundest of decision...

Re: NFL Interest in Rourke

At the end of the day, CFL salaries can't compete with NFL salaries no matter how much a team offers. Rourke's start is the best start to a career for a CFL QB in generations. With a couple of years of development in the NFL, who knows what his ceiling is. The sky is the limit. I wouldn't be surpris...
