Re: Lions 27 - Stampeders 22 Post Game Stats and Comments
Travis Lulay is presently third in quarterback stats, falling behind Burris and Calvillo in both total yards passing and quarterback rating, although he's very close on the latter: 99.2 vs 103 and 104. To me, the QB rating is the more accurate indicator of QB play than passing yards amassed, and Lul...

Re: 2012 U.S. Presidential Election Thread
Interesting, Sir Purrcival. In my analysis of US foreign policy, I wasn't thinking of becoming involved in another war in the Middle East, but rather being more proactive in stopping Iran. There's no question that Obama has been reluctant to stand strongly behind Israel, despite his boilerplate rhet...

Re: 2012 U.S. Presidential Election Thread
If you checked the links - my stuff was not about rumours. It has been confirmed by Romney. It is not something linking him to a Rev. Wright or some urban terrorist who out of jail come to the same community meeting that Obama was at. That I agree is wrong but the other stuff is admitted and speaks...

Re: Game Day Thread- Stamps vs. Lions
You know, I've learned not to put much weight on CFL game predictions. Sure, it looks bad for the Leos tonight, but it wouldn't surprise me at all if they found a way to win. Look at last night's game. I really thought (and hoped) that Hamilton would put a beating on Edmonton--uncertainty at QB, She...

Re: 2012 U.S. Presidential Election Thread
Frankly, I think this kind of rumor-like stuff from decades ago is not worth considering or repeating. The Republicans tried this with Obama (Reverend Wright, that other guy that was an activist, etc.). The Democrats pulled that with Bush (the DUI arrest when he was young). In my opinion, it's despe...

You know the saying, guys: "If you're not a liberal in your 20's, you have no heart, but if you're not a conservative in your 50's, you have no brain."

Re: Riders 27 - Lions 21 Post Game Stats and Comments
Third, as I see it there are a fair number of guys on this roster who won't be here next year so, to some extent, throwing in the towel on this club means giving up on every guy you think won't return, and I sense that list won't be short. This comment surprises me. Who do you think won't be back n...

Re: Andrew Harris is Something Special
Amazing talent. All those zillions of yards with the Raiders have real significance. They translated into the same ability in the CFL, a surprise to many. My only concern is that he is so good, and so effective, that we are using him possibly too much. I wish we could share the load he carries more...

Re: The Psychological Factors
All good points, TV. But there are real individual differences in coaches with respect to their ability to maintain the right mindset before and during a game. What teams regularly come out mentally ready to play. I may be wrong about this, but I haven't often seen the Patriots come out flat. What d...

Re: Crandell demoted to QB coach, Reed now OC - CFL Staff
Kavis Reed said this wasn't a demotion for Crandell, just that he "was asked to take charge of the offence". Reed named Kerry Joseph as the starter and Steven Jyles moved to 3rd-string "for the remainder of the season". He stressed this wasn't a demotion for Jyles, just that Jos...

The Psychological Factors
I fully appreciate the expert in-depth analyses we see on this forum regarding Lions personnel, game-planning, and play selection. Further, many times I think that these factors are instrumental in deciding game outcomes. However, I believe that there is another factor that is often either merely al...

Re: Crandell demoted to QB coach, Reed now OC - CFL Staff
After seeing the tape, I kind of get the impression that David Kelly might now be the de facto OC. Or perhaps he and Marcus Crandell sharing that and providing information re game planning and play selection to Kavis Reed, who will pass it along to the players. Reed sort of implied that there was a ...

Re: Anyone Else Tired of "Character Wins"?
Spoiled fan problems, complaining about how your team wins. SMDH. A win is a win is a win. No style points given. Don't know what "SMDH" means, but my point concerns a team not playing up to its considerable capacity. In my opinion anyway, for a team as loaded with talent as the Lions, a ...

Anyone Else Tired of "Character Wins"?
We've seen a number of "character wins" in the last little while, and, although "a win is a win," I guess, I'm ready for a beat-down from our Leos. I wonder whether it will happen tonight in Regina.

Re: The Lions bring in 4th QB Casey Therriault - Mike Beamis
Take football out of this scenario to consider ... Young person leaves a bar, stands outside. Drunk comes out. Punches the young person in the face. Young person punches back, once, and leaves the scene. Worse stuff happens later to the drunk, killed in fact by others. Young person serves time in j...
