Re: Riders @ Lions Oct 3, 2015
Great news for the Lions as Tommie Draheim, Austin Collie and Mic'hael Brooks return from injury to reclaim their starting positions against the Riders. The B.C. running game was at its best with Draheim at left tackle. On the defensive lne, Brooks and Zach Minter give the Lions their best chance t...

Re: HARRIS Resign or Not ..Wally
So in the province today theres a article talking about Harris if Wally will resign him. Well we know Wally and his ways with Vets and how he treats them in the past. Heres the door without explanation or a thanks and without a hand shake. So my question to all you Lionbackers .. Do you think Wally...

Re: Beck gone home?
This is why ALL model franchises in every sport stay connected to their HOF players and consistently honour them and keep them around, so that the culture of winning NEVER leaves town. If there is ONE THING that I can assure all BC Lion fans of, its that the culture of winning has long since left t...

Re: What is Wrong With This Picture?
Excellent comments guys, and I agree that Cro likely has that scenario down pat. I too would like to see Jeff Tedford be allowed to continue as HC, but ONLY under the circumstances where he has FULL CONTROL over the on field product. Sticking with McMann and Washington makes absolutely no sense as n...

Re: Lulay activated off of 6 game injured list...
The Lions then turned to Jennings and, if he hasn’t been a complete revelation in his six quarters of work, he’s opened some eyes. Against the Stampeders he threw for 252 yards in just over two quarters. Last Saturday in Edmonton, he went 18 of 30 for 281 yards and two touchdowns in his first-ever ...

Re: What is Wrong With This Picture?
The Lions biggest problem is the poor QB'ing this season. They just haven't played consistently well enough to win many games. You could have the greatest coach, GM, president or owner in the world but if the starting QB is deficient or injured, the team will suffer. But that's on the GM. If you be...

Wally for everything that is happening on the field, Skulsky for everything that's happening off of it (and lack of bums in the seats) and Braley for not caring one iota about the state of this franchise and giving Wally and Skulksy free reign to do whatever they want with no accountability. The so...

Re: What is Wrong With This Picture?
It’s a much more depressing picture, statistically, than one can imagine. This is a badly performing football team across the board. True. The product on the field is poor. This fan finds it hard to fault the players. They put their bodies on the line. Most are giving good effort. Ultra conservativ...

Re: What is Wrong With This Picture?
According to bclions.com, Tedford blamed the fourth quarter collapse on penalties and poor field position. No, it was overly conservative play-calling while trying to protect the lead. Yep...and this is how you build character in a young QB and team...by showing confidence in them in the 4th quarte...

Re: Beck gone home?
Mike Beamish has more on Beck's return home and the emergence of Jennings. John Beck exited the B.C. Lions locker-room Sunday, perhaps for the final time. The good news is he didn’t walk into the door. The former NFL quarterback has been a walking catalogue of misfortune this season, but his unluck...

Re: The Jemarkus Curse!!
As BCFAN noted, McFarland was VERY GOOD at DT, so to have him suddenly off our roster makes absolutely NO SENSE. Perhaps he refused to go back on the PR, I don't know, but I do know, that on a team that needs to improve its overall talent base, you don't let a player that showed that much promise th...

Re: Beck gone home?
I think a fair number of players do rehab at home when it's something that will keep them out for a long time (like the rest of the year). Beck was a good guy. Hope he does well with what ever he takes on going forward. That will probably be the last we see of him, I would guess. Dante Marsh was pu...

Re: Who is responsible for the sad state of our team?
Not quite kaputski yet. But it ain't looking good. If Montreal wins a couple of games down the stretch, they might take the crossover. The poll in this thread is showing lots of blame for Wally. And rightly so, in my opinion. As many of us have said, his fingerprints are all over this organization....

Re: Who is responsible for the sad state of our team?
Football is cyclical. The Alouettes and Lions have the longest active playoff streaks in the league, at 19 and 18 years, respectively. One or both of those streaks will likely end this year. Both teams have had great runs, thanks to outstanding management and solid ownership. We knew this would be ...

Re: B.C. Lions at Edmonton Sept. 26, 2015 - Game Day thread
The last time the Lions faced the Eskies, Lulay had a dozen wide open receivers downfield and couldn't connect. If Chris Jones tries the same approach, I think that JJ can make him pay, so I don't think this week is as "easy" for the Esks as they may think.
