Re: WSF: Lions at Riders Nov. 2, 2024

Adams has looked very skittish in the pocket all game, even when he had decent protection. Some of the lack of rythmn and good decision making of the offense is on that, imo.

Told ya.
What a joke. Eley hit him with his shoulder
Targeted the head, with that shoulder. Vulnerable receiver, a poor hit. 15 yards, easy call.

Re: Argonauts at Lions, Sept. 13, 2024

But Lions are finding out Friday nights are not attracting fans from outside the Lower Mainland or young families the way the 4 pm Saturdays do. Post Labour Day games are not the automatic uptick in attendance anymore either. Last year's late season 1st place showdown with the Bombers attracting ...

Re: Argonauts at Lions, Sept. 13, 2024

As much as the oline didn't play well, but where were the quick hitters and screen passes to slow down the pass rush. Seemed like every sack the Lions gave up, Rourke/VA were waiting so long for the receivers to get open for a long pass.

Also hard to blame the defense on this game. The Lions ...

Re: Argonauts at Lions, Sept. 13, 2024

yeah i'm getting the feeling that Campbell really has no idea how the team is going to play on any given night.

Well then that’s on him and his coaches.

This is inexcusable at this time of year battling for first place.

Campbell set the tone tonight with a poor challenge on an iffy ...

They are horrible.
Close ? I was there at the end of last season. It's looking that was a sensible position.

Re: Argonauts at Lions, Sept. 13, 2024

This team has some glaring deficiencies.

Coaching overall is one of them. And, there does appear to be a leadership deficiency in the squad.

Re: Lions at Redblacks Aug. 24, 2024

What a disappointing team in a Grey Cup host year. Defence is awful. No pressure, poor coverage in the secondary, untimely penalties.

Looking like 5 losses in a row. Hosting the Grey Cup. Do you make a coaching change? Who’s available?

Yes, if they lose this game. No idea who might be ...

Re: Bombers at Lions, Aug. 18, 2024

So every team in the CFL has to get effed by the command centre?

The correct call was made. Asking a lot of the receiver there and just didn't quite complete the catch.

My issue with the command centre decision is that not only did Hatcher catch the ball with control while in bounds ...

Re: Bombers at Lions, Aug. 18, 2024

Nice cameo by Brice, made some throws and accounted for a score. Campbell needs to have more faith in him while Rourke settles in,, which frankly might take longer than the team can afford.

Out-coached again today. From the decision to start Rourke to how the game played out.

Re: Lions at Bombers August 1, 2024

This game is the very flower of why I have misgivings about this team. This is not the performance you expect from a top tier team. You expect the Bombers to be tough at home but the Lions havn't done a thing. And this is the knock on this team. They have an opportunity to keep the top spot in the ...

Since Campbell was hired the team has a discipline problem. Not only with penalties in general, but particularly with misconduct / major foul infractions.

Larry Key wrote: Fri Jun 21, 2024 7:49 pm How is that not face guarding??
My guess is it wasn't a catchable ball. Adams should have thrown that to the outside shoulder regardless, but the receiver didn't track the ball and try to make a play on it. Had he, I think the flag comes out.

Re: Lions at Bombers June 21, 2024

Trash defence about to surrender the lead. They have been lit up all 3 weeks.

I share the concern. Coverage is often either too soft in man or nowhere in zone. Had concerns about Phillips' approach / scheme last season, seeing the same concerns early this season.

Also, the offense has no ...
