Those of us on Facebook may want to check out page 4 of yesterday's 24 hours:

The article describes Facebook's data mining function and warns people to be aware of the terms their agreeing to:

"Whenever you post a photo, comment, or any personal information on Facebook, you automatically grant the company a licence to use, modify, and even sublicense that information."

Sports can be a peculiar thing. When partaking in fiction, like a book or movie, we adopt a "Willing Suspension of Disbelief" for enjoyment's sake. There's a similar force at work in sports: "Willing Suspension of Rationality". If you doubt this, listen to any conversation between rival team fans. You even see it among fans of the same team. Fans argue over who's the better QB or goalie, and selectively cite stats that support their views while ignoring those that don't.

I wonder what Zuckerberg plans to do, maybe create The Facebook Herald-Constitution to compete with 24 Hours? :wink:

That brings up one of my pet peeves: Going on a forum, blog or social networking site and pasting user comments together to form your next article: LAZY JOURNALISM!!! :thdn:

Facebook is made up of many networks, each based around a workplace, region, high school or college.

You can use Facebook to:

I wonder how it will compete with Friendster and LinkedIn. I think in the end, Facebook might be used for its photo storing capabilities than anything else. Canuck_4_Life put some good pics on his account.

A very nice person asked me to join facebook, but I am hesitant to join such functions until the security has a proven track record. In this case it is the source itself that is questionable now.....always read the fine print.
Entertainment value = an all time low
