Re: Should the Lions sign Colin Kaepernick?
I respect Kaepernick, what he kneeled for, and the price he paid for his advocacy. But he hasn't played football for SEVEN years. This is not the time in his "career" to learn how to play the CFL game. Not only should the Lions not sign him, but Kaepernick should not accept a contract if o...

Re: Ottawa @ BC Sept 16, 2023
Not kicking a FG late in the game was still the wrong call. The Lions wouldn't have needed that final TD if they had not gambled earlier.

Re: Nathan Rourke Waived by Jacksonville Jaguars
Once again Rourke is getting screwed by the politics of the NFL. The Jets management has no choice but to “roll with Zach” because they spent the #2 overall pick on him in 2021. If the Jets braintrust admits made a mistake they will be out of work just as quickly as Zach Willson. Plucking Rourke fro...

Re: Nathan Rourke Waived by Jacksonville Jaguars
It’s no surprise to see Rourke take a practice roster contract with Jacksonville, for now. He got US$200K guaranteed, so even if he returned to BC and the Lions renegotiated his contract to give him a bump for the remainder of 2023 he’s probably not giving up much in the way of salary. However, I th...

Re: B.C. at Montreal Sept. 2, 2023
I wonder why the CFL allows such adjustments since football stadiums should always have standard sizes and regulatory dimensons at 150 yards long and 65 yards wide in the CFL. I don't think this is the case with any NFL stadium nor would the NFL allow that - especially given the fact the end zone i...

When is the last time we heard an announcer say "Good field position for the Lions to start this drive..."?

Re: Rourke NFL workouts: chooses Jacksonville
Players that come to mind for me are those like Marc Boerigter, John Avery, Casey Printers, Cameron Wake, Joe Theisman, Brandon Browner, Rocket Ismail, Mervyn Fernandez, Warren Moon and so on and so on. It isn't just the Qb that I am thinking about, it is an all position issue. I don't begrudge a s...

Re: Thursday Night Football Scheduling Conundrum
I agree that the CFL would do better at the gate with Sunday (games before the NFL season starts) rather than Thursday nights. But TSN must believe they will get better ratings on Thursday nights vs. Sunday afternoons. And TSN has 50 million reasons per season why they get their way. Reducing the sc...

Re: Rourke NFL workouts: chooses Jacksonville
So I guess the Vikings, for example, with an aging Cousins and not much else at QB, decided that drafting an oft injured QB with nothing that special on his college ball resume, was smarter over giving Rourke a shot ? Very hard to imagine justifying going to the Jags - with a proven young star QB a...

Re: Lions vs. Elks July 29, 2023
Brings Doege in 12 secs left. Jones needs to be punted this coming bye week If I was Doege I would take that as an insult I assumed they were bringing him in for a hail mary to try to at least get in FG range. But then they ran the ball twice. It was a shame that post game no one had the guts to as...

If Winnipeg still has a daily newspaper the sports headline tomorrow should be “Sack Collaros”.
