Re: THE TORONTO STAR, NEWSPAPER OR RAG
Yea but why? There was over 30000 kids out there in their seats screaming and yelling. I have a cousin who took his kids and they had a blast. Who hangs out by the concessions during that kind of atmosphere, especially a reporter? Why did Canada's largest newspaper write this story? I guarantee you ...

Re: Two signings round out Lions' QB roster
I also don't want to beat this to death, but acknowledge that I am doing so... By signing Yantz over Greene isn't that a de facto statement that the Lions believe he is the best prospect in the province? The words used, while perhaps unfortunate, seem to be in lockstep with their actions. (Insert b...

Re: Questions heading into Training Camp
WCJ, I can't believe Dan took cheapshots, and if he did I can't imagine him recycling his material. He is very fairminded and likes to keep his material fresh. #circustime #WHL #houseradio

Re: Two signings round out Lions' QB roster
All teams regardless of the sports says the same thing about their draft picks: - our scouts rated this guy higher, - we can't believe he was still available when it was our turn to pick, - we're very pleased with our picks Don't want to beat this to death. I don't view Bene's comments as this egre...

Re: Two signings round out Lions' QB roster
Is it really that big a slam to say he is the best QB in the province? It seems like standard operating procedure for most teams to talk up their prospects. If he was a RB or DE and the Lions said that about a similar prospect it would seem like normal hyperbole that all teams say about their prospe...

Re: Wake sitting out....
#91 hits it big time with a 4-year $49 million dollar deal of which $20 million is up front and guaranteed. Congrats to Cam! He signed a 4-yr extension, so the $49 million is over 5 seasons (averaging $9,800,000 per season.) Not sure if the $20 million signing bonus is all upfront but his ba...

Pat, Bruce and Billy were all active members of my rugby club in their prime and were stalwarts on and off the field. In an era and club known for toughness, they stood out.

Re: Messam signs with the Miami Dolphins
I'd have to disagree. I think the signing bonus is the only( albeit sometimes small by NFL standards), committment the team makes to the player. If you don't even have to offer the guy any cash up front, how serious are you? How worried are you he's going to get a better offer, than nothing? Every ...

Re: Messam signs with the Miami Dolphins
Was Messam a good ST player in BC? That may be important. I think some people put too much stock in the signing bonus. It is more a reflection of market value, not necessarily what a team thinks of a player. They would sign them all with no signing bonus if they could, but if there are a few teams o...

Re: Messam signs with the Miami Dolphins
kinda surprised. Messam seemed to be able to be stopped here in the CFL. Sure he had his big days but he needs to be part of a balanced offence. Like most running backs, he just will not succeed, IMO, in an offence where the defensive coordinator can say, Quarterback, beat us with your arm cuz we'r...

Re: Jarious Jackson to be Released
Watching Jarious throw fastballs was something. Strongest arm I have ever seen.
I was a fan. I agree with others that if a team committed to his style, he could have been highly successful. Mobile, big man, big arm, nice deep ball.

Re: Rob Murphy
Murphy's best days have passed hm by. His work ethics were questionable when he was with the Lions That's my issue. Murphy seemed to talk more than he worked his last seasons here. My enduring memory of him is his running his mouth before the WF - saying he was going to ride the horse when they won...

Ayanbadejo also played some snaps from scrimmage on the weekend.
227 lbs isn't that small for a Tampa-2 type defence. If he puts on 8-10 more he will be fine. Derrick Brooks was listed at 235. The Ravens run a 3-4 which usually calls for bigger LBs.

Grigson was a CFL player and scout. I guess TSN is reaching for a Canadian spin on the hire.
