Run out the clock. How difficult is that?

4-1 but ugly to say the least.

Lions win one I'm not sure they really deserved too.

Very valid point, last year we would have blown it for sure. 2 points is 2 points.
Lots to clean up on both sides of the ball. Part of me wonders if having the bye twice so early in the season messed with momentum of a young team. Offence in particular really looks out of sync coming out of the bye week.
Happy of course with the "W," but my biggest concerns thus far after 5 games:
* Special teams coverage (we're allowing teams to routinely scrimmage from the 40-yard line after kick-offs)
* Poor tackling (too many backs and receivers are squirming free for extra yards)
* Soft defensive coverage (too easy to get 8-12 yard completions against)
* Special teams returns (we're continually scrimmaging with a long field)

Not a Picasso but a win is a win. Agree with other posters that tackling is atrocious. Anyone know why Evans spiked the ball with a minute and a half remaining ? There is a bit of revival in the running game which is a good sign.

Lions looked like Rich Stubler coached D: bend but don't break, giving up lots of yardage but very few points.
From the start of the season I have maintained that Lions have arguably the best set of DBs (especially when considering SAM LB Purifoy is a DB) in the CFL. I now
think Ti-Cats have the second best DBs.
Not what I would call a very entertaining win but a satisfying and needed to keep pace with the rest of the west, victory.

I don't think many people call the SAM linebacker a defensive back, if they did people would be referring to him as a nickelback. The position has never changed, only the body type.DanoT wrote: ↑Fri Jul 22, 2022 6:20 amLions looked like Rich Stubler coached D: bend but don't break, giving up lots of yardage but very few points.
