The latest on the Alouettes vacancy from Herb Zurkowsky of the Montreal Gazette:
Reed originally was expected to name the new head coach by last Friday. Now he has insisted it will occur before Christmas, meaning he’s quickly running out of time.

Two new names surfaced on Monday, according to a source: Kerry Joseph and Danny Barrett.

Joseph is a former CFL quarterback who played for Saskatchewan when Reed was there as an assistant coach. He’s now the co-offensive co-ordinator and receivers coach at McNeese State. Barrett is a former Roughriders head coach and now the Miami Dolphins’ running backs coach.

It also appears Gary Crowton remains a strong candidate. He was a former Winnipeg OC who has a strong connection to (Alouettes assistant GM Joe) Mack.
Zurkowski also dishes on the resignation for personal reasons of Reed's other assistant GM, Catherine Raiche, who said she and Reed had "different visions on certain things."

Alouettes assistant GM Catherine Raîche says her resignation is personal

With all due respect to my good friend @DidierRDS, I'm told Marcel Bellefeuille is not in the equation when it comes to the #Als' next head coach. But this never-ending saga changes daily, if not hourly. This from Herb Z.
