...one of Bighill or Elimimian? Think about it, the schemes that they run with the two best LB's in the league aren't working, by trading one of them, the other may actually play MLB as a run stopper. Plus, the Lions should be able to pry a good DL out of the trade. They idea of having pressure that actually wants to get to the QB would help out the DB's a little and they need every bit of help that they can get.

Yes.

Suggested it back before the start of the regular season when Lokombo had an excellent training camp and the Lions needed to get a player who should have been the top pick in draft that year onto the field. You could also tweak the ratio and replace the garbage they have playing safety right now.

But this potential trade would mean a GM thinking about this team's overall strengths and weaknesses and looking at the years ahead. Not one who is in semi retirement mode

Since the Lions are dropping Bighill into pass coverage on a regular basis, why not make him the Safety and have Lokombo start in Bighill's LB spot? Or convert Lokombo into a Safety, something that I have suggested in the past.

Why not just play the talent on DEF in the positions they play best in.

Farhan says Mark Washington is over coaching and he's right. Too many out of their position. Willy had a field day running on a bad knee as Bighill was in pass cover so Willy ran.

Absolutely not! Terrible terrible terrible idea that should never be considered. You don't trade one of the best players in the entire league and expect to get better. If the defense isn't working, then you change the coach and find someone who can coach this defense properly.

I can't believe anyone would actually entertain this stupid idea.

No. Trades are judged by the best player involved. Elimimian or Bighill would be the best player involved in any trade, so the Lions would inevitably lose.

NO WAY...the Lions talent is average, but so is the talent on most teams across the league. With a few NFL cuts, new systems and a renewed interest/commitment from the players, these Lions could go on a roll with Lulay at QB. This is on the coaches to employ effective systems that engage the players and then hold them accountable to execute! The LAST THING the Lions want to do is trade a generational talent like Adam Bighill, or the most feared defender in the league in Sol E.

No.

Trade one of your top players? No.

As noted, the winner of a trade is the team that gets the best player. We cannot win that trade.

Help at the gate? Ummm ... Nope.

NOT in favour of the trade. How about trading Mark Washington for a used deflated football instead ?

Washington will be released at the end of the season unless the D starts to play a whole lot better and chances are they won't. So the Lions may be looking for a new DC in the off season and so will the Riders and there are not too many experienced candidates around.

No! How could we possibly improve the situation by trading one of two of the best in the game? Coaching change perhaps but not players of this quality.

I second that notion. I loved watching him play especially hopping the line and blocking field goal attempts.

if you taped the game, you might want to take a second look at the plays when Willy ran the quarterback draw. On almost every one of those
occasions, the B.C. defence was blitzing, including Bighill who always took an outside route to try and get to the quarterback.

Yes, and Elimimian was peeling off in man coverage. Bighill got one sack but on most of Willy's runs he picked up off the edge in the offensive backfield and no one was in the middle.

The way the Lions used Bighill Thursday was a lot like the way Saskatchewan used safety Tyron Brackenridge Friday in Edmonton, blitzing him repeatedly in second and long. All night Matt Nichols read the blitz (as anyone at home could do) and found open receivers in man coverage across the middle in the area vacated by Brackenridge. Brackenridge got one sack but was otherwise ineffective and Nichols passed for 300 yards and 2 TDs.
