Tampa Bay draws first blood with a hard fought 2-1 win in double overtime. Montreal's pathetic power play continues to struggle

Montreal getting hammered this afternoon. Trailing 4-1 after 2 periods. Stupid, undisciplined penalties and an inability to score on the power play killing the Habs.

Wow, did the Canadiens imploded tonight losing 6-2. Down in the series 2-0 heading back to Tampa Bay. Numerous undisciplined penalties. Frustrating beginning to show as they ran Bishop.

Calgary down 2-0 to Anaheim in the 3rd period.

Tampa maybe but I am leaning more towards Anaheim.

Calgary back in the series with a 4-3 overtime victory. Scored with 19 seconds left in the game to send it into overtime. Hope Montreal win tomorrow night.

Devastating loss for the Habs tonight as Tampa Bay scored with no time remaining to take a stranglehold on the series.

Who would have thought that the last Canadian team standing in the playoffs would be......Calgary???

The other shocker at this point is the Rangers. Down 3-1 in their series but the Caps have a history of blowing it in the playoffs so I don't think that one is done yet.

Minnie got swept by the Black Hawks. Chicago on a roll. Should be quite a series if Chicago meets Anaheim.

Bit of a wild finish in Min (no pun intended). Down 3-1 late in the third on a PP with the goalie pulled, Min allows an ENG to make it 4-1 with around 3 mins left. They stay with 6 skaters and storm back with a pair to close it to 4-3. In amongst all this Toews misses the empty net, hitting the post on a shot that would have sealed it. Then with 19 seconds left Chi gets called for too many men but they hang on in regulation FTW and a CF berth.
Sports can be a peculiar thing. When partaking in fiction, like a book or movie, we adopt a "Willing Suspension of Disbelief" for enjoyment's sake. There's a similar force at work in sports: "Willing Suspension of Rationality". If you doubt this, listen to any conversation between rival team fans. You even see it among fans of the same team. Fans argue over who's the better QB or goalie, and selectively cite stats that support their views while ignoring those that don't.

Habs staved off elimination with a 2-1 win. Pressure is now on Tampa Bay. Habs hit 3 goal posts in the game. As usual Carey Price was stellar in goal.
