Regarding Football Operations. Sounds like an end of an era is a couple of hours away.

Hope not, we need Wally B to be on the sidelines for one more season while we sort out the FA situations.

Could understand if he pulls the plug, but...

He wouldn't be calling a presser for much else at this point, it will be interesting to see the fallout of this decision. It may prove to be his worst move as a HC, and that is taking into consideration not re-signing Jamal Johnson at the time.

I'll be sorry to see him go, if that's the anouncement that comes out of the presser. I realize he wasn't popular with many on this site, especially early in the season, but in my opinion he was one of, if not the best coach we ever had.

Well, have to figure Mike B will be the new HC.

Hope Wally B enjoys his new role with the club and more personal time.

Nine years in BC. 101-60-1. 7 division final appearances and five first-place finishes in the West Division.
3 Grey Cup appearances. 2 Grey Cup wins.

22 years as a Head Coach in the CFL. 254-139-3. 21 playoff years. 18 Finals. 9 Grey Cup appearances. 5 Grey Cup victories. Wow.

^^^even more significant when compared with the proud Bombers franchise over the same span :P

The players will come to appreciate not only the football acumen that Wally brought to the game but the emphasis on having good character beyond the football field.

When you start 0-5 in a season that even you may have felt was one year too many, then you finish the year with Grey Cup at home, with a franchise that is suddenly experiencing a bit of a renaissance here, you just can't top that.

Cheers to Wally

Sad to see him go as HC. It's going to be strange not seeing him out there because for me he has been the face of the team. It is going to be an interesting offseason with potentially so many players moving on or retiring. Every year brings in new faces but next years team should look much different then most probably expect.

Thanks for everything, Mr. Buono. Best ever, IMO.

I was hoping that WB would stick around for one more year to try and win the 100th Grey Cup in Toronto and set the record for wins by a coach.
Enough is enough.

End of an era. Hope Buono is able to secure us several more Grey Cups as General Manager and Vice President of Football Operations.

Not at all surprising. Was thrilled to see him come here and happy/sad he's stepping down. He's put in the seasons doing something he loves. If he wanted more, he'd be back. Who knows? Maybe he'll decide that watching from the sidelines isn't something he wants either and he'll get back into coaching but doubt it. This season just seemed a little too purrfect to tempt coming back. And Buono's not gone from football, just gone from Coaching. There is NO WAY WHATSOEVER, he'll be one of those GM's striding into the office after 9 AM....

Thanks for the years coaching Buono. I hated you as Coach of the Stampeders but I respected you. As Coach of the Lions I was able to stop hating you but still respected you. I don't dislike any CFL coaches the way I did when you coached the Stamps but believe me, that dislike was based on the awesome job you did for the Stamps.....
