Congrats Als, the best team this season won even though it was not their best performance of the year. Shows a lot of heart to come back and beat another team, a hostile crowd and what I thought some poor calls. At least we don't need to put up with Rider Nation for a year :cr: Sky of blue, tears of green

Wonder who is taking the manure for this one :dizzy:

It is going to be interesting to see how many Als are going to be retiring after this game...

I think the East, and most notably the Als, is going to be quite different next season.

On the other end, I'd be curious to know who was on the field for the Riders for that first FG and who doesn't make the team next season. Someone was out there who wasn't supposed to be. You look to your left and see the guy who is normally there. You look to your right and see the guy who is normally there. Someone had to see someone out of place when they looked left and right. However, what do you do about it? You can't call a timeout. You go offside you still move them forward 5 yds. Can only hope the ST coach told you to go out there when you shouldn't have been told to go out there.
Now that I don't live in Quesnel do I need to change my handle??

I'm sure ST coach Kavis Reed's lawn will be receiving a healthy dose of manure in the upcoming hours
I'd love you to say it to my face because you'd only say it once...if you ever had the courage to say it at all!! Blitz, 05/24/2008

From what I heard in the Riders TSN pregame show...............Chiu, Calvillo, Cahoon would come back for Trestman.

The city of Montreal will be holding a parade to celebrate the Alouette's championship on Wednesday.

That's a lot more than what the city of Vancouver did for its 1994, 2000, and 2006 Lions championships.

Being down 27-11 in the 4th quarter and coming back for the victory in the biggest game of the year? Wow.

Good teams always find a way to win and the 2009 Alouettes were indeed something special. They didn't go 15-3 in the regular season by fluke.

Congratualtions to the Alouettes and their fans - a hard fought and well-earned victory for sure.

There's a rally at Mosaic Stadium this afternoon to welcome the Riders home. Several thousand are expected to attend.

The city of Montreal has a great sports year with both their soccer and football teams winning their championships, like Vancouver did in 2006. I'm sure the Alouettes will bring their Grey Cup to the Bell Centre at the Canadiens game tomorrow to inspire the team to win the triple crown.

Mosaic had about 300 - 400 people there to greet the team. Much less than I expected. Things are not happy in the flatlands today!

Its a tainted championship. Id sooner have had Duval make his first attempt than that 33 yard gimme. BB

It would have been exponentially more tainted if Ssk had won it on the last play with an extra man on the field. :ref: The 13th man belongs in the stands.
Sports can be a peculiar thing. When partaking in fiction, like a book or movie, we adopt a "Willing Suspension of Disbelief" for enjoyment's sake. There's a similar force at work in sports: "Willing Suspension of Rationality". If you doubt this, listen to any conversation between rival team fans. You even see it among fans of the same team. Fans argue over who's the better QB or goalie, and selectively cite stats that support their views while ignoring those that don't.

Considering that they just won the championship two years ago, finishing as the runner-up, especially the way they did it, is nothing to be proud of.
