Okay, it's do or die for the Lions. Win and the Lions enter the playoffs. :cr:

Lose and the Lions must  that the Hamiton Tiger-cats can upset the Winnipeg Blue Bombers at Canad Inns on Sunday so that the Lions can qualify as a crossover team.

Let's see if the fans can show their support by having the biggest home attendance of 2009 tonight. Of course, having the junior felions will help too.
The BC Lions (8-9) take on the Edmonton Eskimos (8-9) for the West Division’s final playoff spot, and possibly, the final post-season seeding in the CFL. While neither club wants to rely upon a possible Winnipeg loss on Sunday afternoon at Hamilton to claim a crossover position in the East Division, it does remain possible for all four West Division clubs to make the post-season in 2009.

It should be a barn burner of a game. If the front 7 can pressure RR, the secondary should have an easier time covering their receivers. We've lost a few close games, the Leo's are due for a winning streak. Go Lions! :beauty:

Not counting on any kind of help Sunday from the Ti-Cats so the playoffs start tonight with home field advantage.

Ray has had plenty of productive games at BC Place in the past so the defence needs to come up with a big effort. Brent Johnson and Aaron Hunt need to do something they haven't done for much of the season — get consistent pressure on the QB.
Clearly this team has problems closing out games so hopefully they can build some kind of cushion so it's not a one possession difference in the dying minutes like it has been for the past 5 weeks.

After having to stay at home with the kids for last week's Halloween game, we're really looking forward to this one and hoping the fans can make a difference.

I'm looking forward to this one too, am excited about it even. But I expect the Leos to win this one, because I know we are better than the Schmoes.

You know what I really hate? This is the last game of the regular season...that means there is three weeks left of football, and then we'll be in a drought until next summer... :bawl:

And I don't know if anyone else has realized this, but this will also be the last game in the old "marshmallow" as we know her now. New lid, here we come! :)

My fear is the questionable late hit flag on ricky. I know that no such flag will be thrown Casey's way. But you never know we may get lucky. :cr:

At this time, I would say our offence is in decent shape ...

Casey is putting up the passing yardage.

Our running game has been very good, for the most part, with Mallett.

Casey has brought Geroy back into the picture. Paris is right there too. Arceneaux continues to make plays. Be nice if Bumpus could be a game breaker.

.............

Concerns for this game ...

Will we pressure Ricky Ray? Given time, he can dissect a defence. Will we blitz more than usual? Possibly. I would like to see that.

I expect Ricky Ray loves to throw against a zone pass defence. Uggghhhh IMO that is our big weakness on defence. We never use pressure MTM pass coverage. Always a zone. Very predictable. Very, very conservative. A prevent philosophy. Ugghhh

...............

Should be a great game. Looking forward to it. I fully expect to be hoarse again after this one.
.................

Kick ass, Lions. :rockin:

Indeed.

That organization has been screwing us all year, so should we lose tonight I fully expect them to lose to Winnipeg. After all, they...

* beat us twice (before most fans here realized they are a decent team)
* signed Jamall Johnson after he was released by Tampa Bay (he would have fit in really nicely and likely been a starter)
* two other ex-Leos (Floyd and Knowlton) had monster years
* plucked two of our high '09 draft picks

We have to get to Ray. If you give Ray time, he can destroy you.

CP has to keep doing what he has been doing. JJ and BP have been able to exploit EDM with the deep stuff and CP should be able to do the same. I suspect EDM will be watching Geroy closely, I don;t want CP forcing too many that way.

I just have a feeling that Geroy is primed for a 200+ yard receiving game. You just know Casey is going to be looking to Geroy deep all night. I know it, you know it, the Lions know it, hell even Edmonton knows it. CP-GS is like ACBC. Just try and stop us.

Let's not forget that Arceneaux is wanting to have a great game so he can reach the 1000 yrd mark. IIRC he is about 142 yards shy.

It would be pretty cool to have 3 receivers over 1000 this season - especially considering the revolving door at QB.

Okay so we get Arceneaux his 150 yards, we get Geroy his 250 so he's pretty much guaranteed to pass Stamps. We get Jackson his 100 so he doesn't feel left out. Throw about 70 to split between Bumpus and Wilson, and another 50 to Mallet. So...looks like Casey is throwing for about.....620 yards tonight!

This is going to be one hell of a game! :rockin:
