Does everyone know where this park is located? Its the old Empire Stadium site. Not to be confused with Callister Park on Renfrew. BB

Here's what LU had in Sunday's paper about the community practice. Interesting to note it now looks like the Lions will stay in the dome next season with just the lower bowl available.
Perhaps seeking to make amends for a community practice that went off the rails earlier this summer, the Lions will hold a similar event on the former site of Empire Stadium Aug. 30. A purrfect place to announce they will play in a temporary facility at the PNE next year? No, said club spokesman Jamie Cartmell. But talk around the dome Friday is that B.C. Pavilion Corp. officials are now studying the idea of letting the Lions play the 2010 CFL season indoors at B.C. Place, but opening only the lower bowl during roof reconstruction. Next week's open practice will start at noon.
Sounds like this community practice wlll make up for the lack of one at David Lam Park last month. Too bad they couldn't make up a couple of home games too.
Given they will be coming off the bye and what happened in the last game I would think there would be more sense of purpose to it.

Looks like seating will be capped at 28-29k for next year then in that case. Although at this point it looks like that's about all they need.

I think though, for those who are planning to go to the PNE on Aug. 30, they will be more interested in getting these than autographs from the Lions.

Speaking of Empire Stadium, does anybody have this book: Thrown to the Lions: The B.C. Lions in Empire Stadium (1954 - 1982)
If you do, can you please scan a few pictures to show us? It would be great if there was a closeup picture of the replay screen.

These aren't the best shots (taken with a Sony Cybershot 5.1 mega pixels), but just so you could see what it was all about.
Just a wider shot of the old Empire site. Practice was over and the players were conducting a youth clinic.
