Not that rare. I've got one signed by the Bombers from 2006.

I won't sell mine either.

I have one from the Joe Kapp - Willie Fleming era. It was an award for minor football. Sentimental value. I never thought it had any material value. Dunno.

A DD signed football sold on auction at the Vancouver Yacht Club last Sunday for $140 (4 bids). Proceeds went to Easter Seals.

The football is worth $100 before it's signed.

I have 3 all-star game signed balls from the early 70's. No idea what they're worth.
Give the ball to LeeRoy!

I'd think a CFL football is worth quite a lot... based on the preseason game I saw once years ago, where an errant punt bounced into the stands and into the hands of a fan... and two officials *and the mascot* went over and waved to the guy to give the ball back. Now how cheap is that?

In Hamilton, the extra point kick (in the endzone with the tents) always goes into the fans (ridiculous melee ensues, someone is going to get seriously hurt, someday)........the ball is quickly retrieved by Ti-cat staff and the recovering fan receives 2 tickets to the next game.

Wow, I didn't know that. Yes, somebody is bound to get hurt, but I don't think the melee will be as big as going after a Mark McGwire, Sammy Sosa, or Barry Bonds record setting home run ball.

I wonder if this promotion will still be used in their last regular season home game. If so, how will the winning recipient be compensated?

I heard reports that 6 people got trampled on after Bonds' 756 HR, and the guy who caught the ball got a rather forceful exit from the area.

I think the value of the football is sentimental rather than monitary. My wife won in auction a 1992 Grey Cup footbal signed by the Stamps. This is a prized posession of mine in a case waiting for a proper home in my house.

I'm not sure how I could put a price or value on that. :?

For his own safety, he was escorted to a safe place by security.

Unlike baseballs, it seems like footballs that are involved in significant and historic plays don't automatically appreciate in price. I'm sure if it was auctioned off, a certain football might go at a high price. But it's not nearly as publicized. I wonder where the football used for Lui's 1994 Grey Cup win is today.

When I was at the CFL Hall of Fame museum, I don't recall seeing any historic footballs used in memorable plays on display.

I have a 1994 Grey Cup ball (last time the J5V was used in the CFL).......it's nice to think that it may have been the ball that Lui kicked the winning points. :rockin:

Well seeing as how we are all talking about them ...

I have a 1985 Grey Cup game used ball signed by the entire BC Lions team. I KNOW it was one of the last balls Al Wilson touched!! ;)
Now that I don't live in Quesnel do I need to change my handle??
