A quick Tailgating question...

I'm new to the site and was wondering if there was a communal BBQ as I don't drive but would like to join in. As is now I just sit up at the street party. Also I don't know if this already exists but does anyone sell hot dogs or burgers and drinks to raise funds for this site or some other cause? I would pay instead of taking hot dogs on the bus!

May I recommend you show up at the next pubgater? I think Ballistic Bob and the other North Shore folk have a place for Lions games. Keep reading the events area. :)

I know in Calgary food and beverages are not allowed to be sold, and it is strictly enforced. I would assume the same laws would apply here. As a regular tailgater, I would suggest you come on by and introduce yourself. People in our group are friendly and if you ask for some grill space, they will generally oblige. I always offer people cooler space etc.

One thing to be aware of is that the grills need to be cooled down and packed away. Don't show up at 6:30 expecting a bbq to be available for you for a 7:00 start.

I work on the Canada line. Plus Alcohol and I have divorced.. My buddy told me about the Russell cream ale..

OS99 Is a master tailgater. He speaks the truth. I'm still sorry for dissappearing w/out cleaning up so long ago.. (beer run.) If it makes you feel better, I've missed out on much beery goodness. :(

Additional to being packed away. Clean up any garbage that you bring onto the site. People bring garbage bags, so if someone offers you cooler space, feel free to return the favor by clearing a table.

Tailgating is like spandex. A priviledge, not a right. Good luck Deep Threat.

I thought that there would be legal issues but I was not sure. I thought if someone was willing to take a risk or only sell to friends but it was just a thought. I'm of the mind set that I will pay to have someone else do the work!

I'm not saying its enforced here, only that we don't want someone setting up shop selling food or beer...

I've actually taken food that needs to be cooked to a TGer via public transit. I stopped doing the hot dog thing last year, and refuse to do it especially the last TGer.

Hi Susan It should read June 28th for the Toronto game at 3:30. July 28th would be the away game with Calgary unless we are planning that far ahead. BB

Just pick up a case of beer at Rosie's on Robson and wander down......as most LB'ers can attest to.....we always have extra food, cups, smokes, chairs, bbq, cutlery for anybody.

The tank is always full and so is the cooler.......OS99 usually gives us a run for the money for best chow, Bob the best tan, She-lion has the best TV, and CF4L has the best appetite.

We're usually there by 3pm.....swillin' by 3:05

The past couple times I've cheapened out on food, usually 12" Quiznos, however, for the home opener, I'm seriously considering taking a run out to La Charcuterie (96th/190th). There's regular bus service out there (590) which will put me back at Surrey Central.

I've toned things down a bit, since I no longer have a Q....I would say Rick James is right up there in the culinary tailgates arts. I am opting to experiment on the beverage side of things. My goal is to purrfect an orange coloured martini...I better get testing.

Try this OS...

1 1/2 oz. vodka
3/4 oz. vanilla liqueur
3/4 oz. malibu rum
2 oz. orange juice
2 oz. sweet and sour mix
splash of grenadine for color

maybe part of an orange wheel :)

burgers go well :-)
