For such a good item, I can imagine kids breaking down in tears if they don't get one. :bawl:
Hahaha I bet no kids will want one. Serouisly, I'm not going to go out of my way to get a bobblehead, they'll sell them later and frankly I don't care. If a kid cries because they don't get one, take a picture because otherwise I can't imagine that happening.

Yeah, DPF you're a bit bigger than a 12 year old lol.....now if its 16 and under....

In that thread, some of you expressed remorse about not taking advantage of free giveaways like posters and scarves. Well, if you don't want that to happen again, let's use this thread to inform each other of the giveaways that you can take advantage of this year and get more bang for your buck. And for those of you who receive free items, you can post pictures of them here too.

This is definitely a partial list. Please add other giveaways and events that you know about.

I was wondering that too. It looks really good quality and I would be happy to pay to get one for myself. I think in the future the team should introduce more bobbleheads, they're a popular collectible for a lot of people. Down in Seattle they had a 4-set series of Mariner players. They could do something similar here, have a Dickenson, Simon, B. Johnson and Glatt or whichever fan favorite defender you want. People would go crazy for something like that. The kicker though would be to have them be made available to everybody and not just kids.

Perhaps the available-to-kids-only angle is part of the larger goal of the club in creating the next generation of Lion fans.

Time for my usual post-giveaway question:

For you kid Lionbackers like LF4L, did you get a Geroy Simon bobblehead?
And for those of you who accompanied kids, did they get one?

Yes... I had both my kids with me last night (for a change) and they each got one. Excellent quality and it comes in a nice box too with photos of Geroy as well as his bio and career accomplishments. The only thing I wasn't crazy about is the Rogers logo at the base but I guess someone had to pay for them.

It's a nice souvenir to recognize one of the Lions all-time great players. Geroy turned 32 in September and we may only be looking at a couple of more seasons of his play being at a high level. :bawl:

Got a couple with the kids, they should enjoy this even moreso when the Lion legends are looked back on and they have Geroy's bobble head collecting dust. They were all excited about it, and it is a very good market for creating future ST holders.

The only crappy part was they were not for sale...I was willing to snap up a few for Grey Cup gifts for people back east. Once again, the team misses out on moola...that and I heard a story of one person/family getting six of them...not real cool. I wonder how many will end up on eBay?
