at least to me.
Does the rest of the team really play better for one goalie than the other
RK Player Team ..............GP SA GA W L OT Sv Sv% SO GAA
4 VESA TOSKALA..... SJS 28 714 60 21 06 0 654 .916 3 2.21
5 EVGENI NABOKOV SJS 25 604 51 12 11 0 553 .916 3 2.26
note:
GAA about the same.
sv% exactly the same.
shutouts, the same.
win percentage
Toskala - 78
nabokov - 52
Obviously they not scoring as much per game when EN plays.
Does this make sense to any of you hockey fans out there?
This needs explaining

Sometimes we read too much into stats. There is such a thing as "randomness", and given enough time phenomenons like this tend to even themselves out. You'll often see the same thing in baseball - two pitchers with pretty equal ERAs and Ks, but one just happens to get better run support than the other. To quote the great philosopher Bill Parcells, "it is what it is."
"Pain heals. Chicks dig scars. Glory lasts forever."
actually, since GAA is so close, it would be more like one goalie getting the starts against the better defensive teams....but why would that happen.maddeep73 wrote:Also, you must look at the quality of the opponents. Perhaps one goalie gets more starts against teams that are offensively challanged? It is a bit of an anomoly but not unheard of.
Every day that passes is one you can't get back

Yea, you could stop 50 shots, but If they all come from the red line the stats will become misleading and hard to determine with any accuracy unless you follow the team.
