Aaron Grymes was cut by Philadelphia; he was a pretty good cover man in the Eskimo secondary and hails from Seattle. Might be on the Leo's radar.
A rush end would be more of a priority though but talent is talent.

A rush end or 2, a tackle, a safety, an Olineman or 2. A HC, OC, oh wait....
Tell me how long must a fan be strong? Ans. Always.

Brett Boyko released by the Chargers.
Although he seems to be highly-regarded on this forum, his measurables are pretty pedestrian, at least by NFL standards--short-armed, slow, with small hands, and short on athleticism and strength. Does have experience, however, and we do need help on the O-line.

Bo Lokombo was also released. I expect we will find out pretty quick what is happening with Boykin and the Leo's as the team has been closely monitoring his status. No idea ow the team would approach Lokombo being potentially available.

Richie Leone was also cut. I wonder if Buono is interested in having him back.

On a positive note, Anthony Auclair makes Buccaneer's 53 man roster

As for players by position each of those positions are now available via the NFL cuts. However Lions/Wally rarely insert NFL cuts that don't have CFL experience at this time in the season. With that said, the chances of plugging the holes aren't very good, especially if Bighill returns with the SMS hit.
One thing is it will be much easier for the Lions to upgrade than a few of the teams above them.

Big question is how much $ we have available.
Boyko would be a no-brainer if available. Provides National depth on oline now and in the future.
Bazzie or another D lineman would meet a pressing need.
I would use available money in these areas first.

I think this will be his third season as a NFL practice roster player. I think there is a 3 year limit for practice roster players in the NFL. Anyone know for sure?TheLionKing wrote: ↑Sun Sep 03, 2017 3:19 pmBrett Boyko added to San Diego Chargers' practice roster.
That's correct. This is Boyko's third a last season of practice roster eligibility. Spending at least six weeks on a practice squad counts as a year of eligibility, and Boyko has spent at least that much time on the practice squads of the Eagles and Chargers in each of his first two seasons in the NFL.DanoT wrote: ↑Sun Sep 03, 2017 6:27 pmI think this will be his third season as a NFL practice roster player. Farhan is reporting the Leo's have been talking with Alex Bazzie's agent and hope to have a deal sorted out soon. Certainly the DLine needs a rush end to help with improving its contribution. Bazzie tailed off last year so maybe having half a season will help keep him fresh through to the Grey Cup.
Sorry to say that the Lions need more than Bazzie to improve the rush. He would be a slight upgrade but not an impact that the Lions need on their DL.CardiacKid wrote: ↑Mon Sep 04, 2017 9:30 pmFarhan is reporting the Leo's have been talking with Alex Bazzie's agent and hope to have a deal sorted out soon. If he learned anything and comes back fired up to be a success back here, he could be like Sol E whose more than redeemed himself since his foray south.Rammer wrote: ↑Tue Sep 05, 2017 9:47 amSorry to say that the Lions need more than Bazzie to improve the rush. Boyko either likes the PR money or believes he's just a hit or two away from being on the main squad.
