Team 1040 saying the Lions will make an announcement at 6:15pm today....Anyone heard?...Any guesses? My guess is the 'new' black jersey because I'm sure they've had to make it a little easier to read the names and numbers from the stands

According to Ticketmaster's map, it's not sold out but it looks like 40-45,000 tickets have been sold. The the top half of Level 4 is still available in the corners and end zones.

Hay, don't knock all the optimistic rah rah, after all it got them Glenn for a lot less than if Ottawa had known the reality that was obvious from the 1st day of TC: No way Lulay will be playing in the early regular season.

All the pre season Lulay optimism might have sold a few season tickets as well... but the Lions while they would gladly intentionally mislead the opposition, we all know that they would never mislead their fans.

With a 7:00 kickoff tonight a 6:15pm announcement sounds likely fan/game day related for the upcoming season.

It wasn't announced in the stadium but via Twitter: Geroy Simon will be inducted in the Lions' Ring of Honour on July 25.

It's the right thing to do. I know some people have issues with Geroy after he joined the Riders, but you can not take away everything he did as a Lion. Congrats Geroy!!

Yeah, it is the right thing to do. The Lions are showing graciousness. Yes, Geroy obviously belongs on the Lions' Wall of Fame. I do understand, however, that fans will still be upset, and slow or unlikely to forgive and forget. That is just the way it is ... in sports. And it is no time for moral superiority IMO. There are realities, and they don't change.

This will certainly ease his transition back to his home city, when the Rider P.R. gig comes to an end.

Not quite like South American soccer, though. Give up an own goal and you had better not go home. And don't wear the wrong colors at an away game.

I am in total support of Simon. In my opinion he was the face of the Lions, and quite possibly pro sports, in BC for a very long time. My only wish is that he had retired a Lion. Well deserved.

Yes, Geroy obviously belongs on the Lions' Wall of Fame.

Remember, not the Wall of Fame as even more prestigious is the Ring of Honour. That said, will #81 be actually retired? Maybe not.
