I actually like them all, except Saskatchewan. However, considering that the Riders have sold more merchandise than any other CFL club, they may have felt it was necessary to make radical changes in order to spark demand for something totally new in a small market.
I couldn't find very good images of Winnipeg's new jerseys on their website (which could mean they are embarrassed) but based on what I could glean from the banner ad for the Bomber store I'd say they look "ok".
Winners: BC, Edmonton, Hamilton, Calgary
Loser: Saskatchewan
Draw: Winnipeg, Toronto, Montreal

Honestly, removed the piping. Got to say that is hardly worth notice. I'm glad to hear that they fit better otherwise, I would have been inclined to say don't bother. I'm sure as hell not gonna run out and buy one. I could get a good quality T-Shirt in Orange, put some numbers on it and from a distance most wouldn't know. A lot cheaper too!
Tell me how long must a fan be strong? Ans. Always.

Maybe the "new" jerseys are not such a big deal for me because I will probably never spend $200 on an authentic jersey. For me, the most important thing is how my team looks on the field and on TV. So while the full orange may be too much to wear out for some, come game day I think our Leos are going to look great on the gridiron!
To show off the new jersies, Travis Lulay made a cameo on the Global newscast at 6 PM and will be making a longer appearance on the 11 PM Global newscast (probably around 11:40ish) with Squire Barnes and Randene Neil.....

The more things change the more they remain the same. A few years ago the CFL came out with the "new" look uniforms. For the most part they added pipings. Today the CFL introduced the "retro" look. They did away with the pipings and included a few cosmetic changes. Thank goodness I didn't buy the hype and went out to preorder the new unis.
Like some other posters, I wish the Lions would wear the mid-70's retro look a la 2010. I prefer everything about those unis-- the burnt orange, the silver pants, black helmets, the jersey and pant stripes.
Saskatchewan-- OMFG.
Winnipeg-- only a little better than Sask; at least they went back to the good old "W"-- they should go back to that cool medium blue of the 70's/80's
Calgary-- a slight improvement over previous, but that's not saying much.
Edmonton-- not bad.
Hamilton-- okay.
Toronto-- road good; home no thanks (bad jersey stripes)
BC and Mtl-- same as it ever was; same as it ever was
All in all, I think Reebok should stick to soccer. And I think that most teams updated 70's retro unis were better than their current ones. Seriously, Saskatchewan's make me want to vomit.

Good interview by Squire and Randene. Lulay said his biggest adjustment to the CFL as a quarterback was the three downs and the motion. Squire asked whether there was anything quirky or memorable in the Grey Cup than the fans may not be aware of. Lulay stated on the play that Kiere Johnson scored on a long pass, couple of the players ran the wrong route. Luckily for the Lions, Johnson ran the right route.notahomer wrote:To show off the new jersies, Travis Lulay made a cameo on the Global newscast at 6 PM and will be making a longer appearance on the 11 PM Global newscast (probably around 11:40ish) with Squire Barnes and Randene Neil.....
That was a great interview, with knowledgeable queations covering just about everything in great detail. They showed highlights of the two playoff victories and even threw the ball around in the Global parking lot.notahomer wrote:To show off the new jersies, Travis Lulay made a cameo on the Global newscast at 6 PM and will be making a longer appearance on the 11 PM Global newscast (probably around 11:40ish) with Squire Barnes and Randene Neil.....
The new jerseys haven't changed much but the Lions got great mileage out of the unveiling, from the live coverage on Team 1040 and CityTV at 8 a.m. to the player appearances on various radio and TV stations throughout the day, culminating with Lulay's interview on the late Global news. I'm pumped for the season.
i saw earlier that someone was interested in buying last years (with the piping), I have an Orange Mens Medium I would sell (Reebok/Geroy version, screen printed 81), open to offers at williejoe@shaw.ca
Yes, I enjoyed the piece too and agree with your comment regarding being excited about the upcoming season. Randene and Squire do a pretty good job with their interviews, IMO.B.C.FAN wrote: That was a great interview, with knowledgeable queations covering just about everything in great detail. Lulay did have me wondering who/what/when/why. Kinda surprised how honestly he answered that particular question. Then again, many of the BIG plays turn out to not be as planned, IIRC. Was't the last second McManus/Flutie endzone TD versus the Stamps in the 94 Western Final a so-called broken play?TheLionKing wrote: Good interview by Squire and Randene. Listening to Lulay call out the parking lot play to Chris Galus was funny too. Typical footballl lingo right out of a playbook by the sounds of it. Probably not an actual play of course but fun nonetheless. Good catch by Chris too!
