Well, sort of, one may be getting ahead of onesself in the sense that Manny was courted by several teams, if the Vikes let him go another team can pick him up and let the Vikes pay his contract for that yr.MexicoLionFan wrote:That's true SP...Manny is sacrificing playing time and skill development for sitting on the bench, collecting an American paycheque, and being a victim of the numbers game. As I mentioned earlier, the Vikings are going to address the WR position in a big way this coming off season, likely through both the draft and FA...pushing EA back even further...and teams like the Vikings don't keep the same players on the practise roster forever...if you can't make the squad after one season of prepping, then they jettison the player for fresh meat...
I think Manny will come limping back to the CFL, wanting big dollars, and still possessing a case of the dropsies...
What to watch for with him is whether or not in the last 2 games, he makes the active roster, a player can be on a teams' PR for 3 yrs, or 8 active games, they've given him a fair amount of money so far but whether that is enough to get him a shot remains to be seen.
For example John Chick was given a 800k signing bonus, looked good in 2 preseasons, but was ultimately waived by the Colts, he signed with the Jags and had 3 sacks and 1 forced fumble in part time duty, sometimes it is not talent that keeps a guy from playing, it boils down to Coaches liking a player enough to give them a shot at playing.
Imo that is what is happening with Manny A, if he goes somewhere else I believe he will produce.
