Matt Dunigan for OC in 2011. Or sooner.
the way things are going in hamilton, the whitecaps may become the only team in town for me. Not sure if I could maintain interest in a 7 team cfl. not after all these years.nelson95 wrote:Whitecaps still have tickets available

has no one here heard the news? Is that why there is yet no talk about it. The letter Bob Young sent to the mayor saying that the ticats will not play in the stadium built downtown and that therefore in a couple of yrs, the ticats will not be in hamilton. General inference seems to include the possibilty of Bob just folding the team.Lionheart wrote:How do you figure a seven team league?
been discussing it all afternoon on cfl.ca

Heard on Team 1040 that Bob Young is looking at the possibility of moving the team to Quebec City.

knowitall, there is zero chance of him folding the team. He would be moving the team; and that still equals eight. Please get it right.
With the way we here in BC built a fine temporary stadium for 15mm, it's a very good option to move the team quickly while a proper stadium is built. So please, drop the seven team league bit.
So, Vancouver is not the only city with an idiotic mayor eh?

any possibility = greater than zero chanceLionheart wrote:knowitall, there is zero chance of him folding the team. He would be moving the team; and that still equals eight. Please get it right.

if this whole thing in hamilton falls through, who is going to build this proper stadium you mention? Have you followed the talk on ticats forum?? They be giving play by play of the city meeting for the vote.

If the Lions can build a stadium in three months for 15 million, then the possibilities for the Ticats to find a place are literally endless. Good for Bob Young to not give in to the city on this one. I'm quite certain Hamilton will come around, and if they don't, Quebec City or Moncton are both possibilities.

There are a myriad of construction companies that can build a 30,000 seat CFL stadium, it's not that hard.KnowItAll wrote:

regardless of who is right and wrong, bob young is pretty much finished among non ticats fans in hamilton, with the majority of them wanting the WH location and extremely put off with bob young refusing to go along. Unless bob is willing to fund a new stadium elsewhere by himself, which I doubt will happen, it is quite probable that they will have no place to play in hamilton in 2012. However, even if they do have a place, with the lost goodwill towards bob and the ticats, they will have problems increasing attendance, no matter how well they do on the field. Bob has even lost the support of some of the ticat faithful. IMO, BY can not make a go of it with the ticats no matter where they locate anywhere around hamilton and will need to sell the team, with the only other option being moving completely away, which I dont see as being very realistic.
7 teams from 2012 till when ever ottawa returns is quite possible to me.
