This is shocking and disappointing. Phoenix has built the most exciting, highest-scoring, fastest-running, best-three-point-shooting team in the league and Shawn Marion was a key to that offence. He ran the floor and the pick-and-roll as well as any forward and could spot up and shoot three-pointers. Shaq can do none of that, and is not as good a rebounder as Marion. It was bad enough when the Suns added Grant Hill, who likes to make his own shots rather than spot up and shoot. The Suns already had a big presence in the middle in Stoudamire. They don't need an aging Shaq. They've become slower, more boring and lower-scoring.

Marion and Amare could never contain Tim Duncan, so here comes Shaq. Great move.

here is another article on NBA relocation and how it has not been successful...

http://thedaily.washington.edu/2008/1/3 ... t-the-NBA/

It's just David Stern siding with the greedy owners and letting them move to markets that turn out to be worse than where the teams were originally.

today Seattle Mayor Nickels said they do not want to talk buyout with Bennett, they feel they can either get a 1. new arena 2. renovate key arena 3. find local ownership..
there is stuff going on behind the scenes. It would be tragic for Seattle to lose the Supersonics, they have been a part of the landscape for over 40 years. It just does not make any sense to move them to a smaller market in Oklahoma City. The Fight has just begun!

Another NW team is likely to bite the dust unfortunately.
