So, who do we nominate to start the thread on their board once this news becomes official? 8)

Perhaps Wally is now wishing he did re-sign JC to a contract extension last November as his value to the team has perhaps never been higher.

Not only is he having an outstanding season but the Lions' Canadian depth is not what it was a year ago where Thelwell and McKay-Loescher were making valuable contributions.

Boden and Nicolson are not even in the Lions' offence picture yet, while Pottinger and Foley are not ready to be every day starters in the immediate future.

Wally is likely having to open the vault for JC and leave him no choice but to re-sign here — ensuring he remains a big part of the team and the luxury of continuing to play two imports on the offensive line.

Great news for the Lions if true, but I'll feel better when pen is put to paper.

IMO, JC has been the key to the Lions offence for the past couple years even with Geroy's MOP season in 2006.

Witness the struggles of the offensive unit and the Lions shaky start last year after he got injured. When he returned, it coincided with the return to form of the BC offense (Joe Smith's arrival helped as well).

Ever since talk of JC leaving BC as a FA started, a knot has been forming in the pit of my stomach; and will only dissipate when his re-signing is publicly announced by Wally Buono. He goes anywhere else, he instantly becomes the #1 pass receiving option.

Even now, if the Lions need a key first down, it often is the result of another one of Clermont's tough catches over the middle. He also does the little things which go unnoticed by many (ie: picking up the backside blitz in their 5 receiver set, laying the key block which springs the ballcarrier for extra yardage).

Geroy gets the publicity and attention (rightfully so) but 82 just quietly produces. To #82 spending the rest of his career on the Left Coast. :rockin:
