Blonde bimbos on TV last forever. As long as there is make up and surgery, she'll stay whatever age you think she should be. She's not a journalist. She's a TV personality on a News channel. Nothing more.
She's taking a job away from some one who's far more qualified in journalism.
IMO

Could care less because I don't watch CTV. The so called Evening News is turning into a joke.

She was in over her head as weather-girl, now it is just embarrassing. But if you want your news read by a pretty face then it's a great success.

she is more than just a pretty face. she has a wonderful personality. my whole family likes her. she was NOT in over her head as weather girl. In fact, thats practically an impossibility for anyone. Even if she isnt good anchor material, which remains to be seen, doesnt make her a bimbo or deserving of insult.

jcalhoun wrote:Hey all,

I have to agree on TT --when they announced she'd be the evening news anchor, I decided that on the rare occasions where I watch the "news" I'd choose Global or CBC. A week or two ago I was flipping channels, and I kid you not, they were playing a game where the anchors shouted out the answers to pop-culture questions. How do you segue from the real news of the world, like Libyan helicopter gunships mowing down protesters, to that type of light-hearted, info-tainment filler? Sorry, but I want a certain gravitas emanating from the newsroom, and the current crew at CTV just doesn't have it.

I have to admit, I always chuckle whenever the adverts for the new news team come on --"Tamara doesn't really read the news" --yeah...

Her appointment is just another sign of the collective dumbing down of our society.

Cheers,

James

I'm a fan of Tamara's  she looks good for her age, and I like her personality too.

Tamara definitely looks good for her age, but by god could I not stand her before she was an anchor; I sure won;t be able to take it now. I'll stick with global, much better than CTV. I find that CTV fear mongers more often than other stations whenever they have a commercial about the upcoming news segment.

My wife and I like her.

She did well to be selected as one of 5 co-hosts for Kelly Ripa on Regis and Kelly.

Saw that show and she did fantastic and did not look out of place at all. By all accounts the pros thought so too.

Not quite sure why we Canadians knock the locals that do good but we wouldn't be Canadians if we didn't.

You can see her on You Tube on that show.

She is like so many attractive women. The looks confuse others to make them think they are bimbos. I think she has talent and of course all of us have our ideas of what is substance and what we like.

Good interview with here on parenting and her new store!

I have a lot of respect for those prepared to take risks and be entrepreneurs who have to meet a payroll rather than let others worry about cutting the cheques:

"GRM: You recently opened a boutique kid’s store, called EiO, in downtown Vancouver with two friends. What inspired you to take on this project?
TAMARA TAGGART: I was looking for a creative outlet that would be fun. Now that I’m a parent I have an opinion on all kinds of kids products, so I wanted to put that to use!"
