Hey knowitall... you are doing just fine. Your points are all good and this is a good discussion. Let's come back to this one in five years and see who is closest to who in styles. We may be all surprised.

Not inherently, but I think it's fair to say that when you make an overall comparison (especially in the NFL), for whatever reason, there seems to be a pretty distinctive divide in styles between the Vick/McNabb/Culpepper camp on one hand, and the Brady/Bledsoe/Garcia type on the other...

Buck throws like DD but looks more like Dunigan back there given his size.

His throws were half decent. Yes, he can thank Clermont for catching at least two of them and he's lucky that one went through the hands of two rider defenders and wasn't picked off.

Give him a few more reps in game situations and he will be miles ahead of where he already is. :roar:

Ok just to throw more fuel onto the fire here...

I just read this quote from Buono in the Regina Leaderpost:
"It starts with him, with his temperament and preparation," said
Buono, who noted Pierce reminds him of former Calgary Stampeders star
Jeff Garcia."
Now that I don't live in Quesnel do I need to change my handle??

LFITQ- at least someone reads more broadly than the Sun or the Province..lol.

Just to add even more fuel, the Sun today says that the Lion players call Buck Pierce "Junior Dicky" lending credence to the Dave Dickenson reference.

Buono would know Garcia better than most as he had him from day 1 of his CFL career. Interesting.

Buck looks like both of them. Dunigan could throw the long ball well. It was the short one near the goal line in the 88 grey cup game remember!

That can very well be the lowest moment in BC Lions history. How about some trivia questions about that game?

1. Who was that intercepted pass intended for?

2. After the interception, the Lions held the Bombers to two and out and Winnipeg punter Bob Cameron conceded a safety to make the score 22-21. After the ensuing kickoff, Anthony Drawhorn returned the kick for decent yardage. But another BC Lion suddenly became totally undisciplined and as a result, was disqualified from the came and created a major foul for BC and driving them back, out of field goal range. BC eventually turned the ball over on downs on their last possession. Who was that undisciplined player?

3. Who was QB for Winnipeg?

4. The offensive MVP of that game was Winnipeg's James Murphy, who caught 5 passes for 165 yards and Winnipeg's only TD. Who was the BC cornerback assigned to cover him who failed to do his job that day?

5. In a game where one point was the difference, kicking was a huge factor. What was Lui's field goal result that game?
