This fan likes Geroy. His GM type experience so far is minimal.David wrote: ↑Mon Nov 13, 2017 10:04 pmGlen Suitor was on TSN1040 radio a few weeks ago with Sekeres and Price, and thought Geroy would be a good choice as the next GM of the BC Lions. Interestingly, Neil's name never came up. I don't know, but I don't suspect Geroy has cut his teeth enough in management to take that position. I am not saying he won't ever be ready but the next hire has to be the right one. We have an awful lot riding on this.WestCoastJoe wrote: ↑Mon Nov 13, 2017 9:29 pmTimes change. And a good thing runs its course.
Braley came to depend on Wally more and more. Braley became more and more of an absentee owner. Braley got old, and started to dither on some issues. He got away from hard-headed business evaluations and decisions in some cases. He let the franchise get stale.
I just hope Wally and Braley decide to go with Neil McAvoy taking over as GM. If that happens, and if Neil cleans house and changes the philosophy, that is our best hope IMO. If Neil takes over with Wally as heavily involved overseer, we will see the same old, same old.
Just IMO ...
As for Braley, his judgment came into question for me when he said something to the effect that Wally will always have his job, or job for life, or however long he wants it (I don't have the exact quote). That just seemed to me to be a foolish declaration for such an astute businessman to make. Would he walk into the office of the guy running Orlick Industries for him and tell him he can sit in that chair as long as he wants to?? Highly doubtful.

McAvoy has been assistant GM for years now. LaPolice would be a safe choice for HC, if LaPo was willing. Safest scenario out there IMO. And it could be very good. If the team does well, they could be held over by new ownership.
