I tried to copy the article but would not let me, so here is the link. A couple of Lions coaches on their list, but seems the list to be very long, so may take a awhile. Interesting read:

The article names B.C. assistants Marcel Bellefeuille and Mark Washington as favourites, along with Devone Claybrooks, Corey Chamblin and Jaime Elizondo.

It also names Khari Jones among a long list of candidates "worth remembering," including former Lions coach Mike Benevides.

Here's the link:
Alouettes have long list of potential head coach candidates

Thanks BC Fan. A key factor is what coach can work with Kavis Reed and will trust he will not fire him after a year. Claybrooks may be wise to stay in Calgary. Montreal has a major rebuilding job.

Also read today, Reed cut their best player Bear Woods, for he was their player Rep and critical of some decisions. It was a stupid move, for they could have traded him and got a player or 2 in return. Reed is a terrible coach and just as bad GM.

Thanks for the link. One name that stood out in the article was Tom Clements. He seems to have had a good career as an offensive coordinator/ QB coach south of the border. Not sure what he is doing now, but he might be persuaded to come north for a OC or HC job.

Does the name "Jarious Jackson" come up in any of those articles? And would he be interested in a move?

As a QB coach, he has worked with Lulay, Reilly, Glenn, Bridge, and look how that turned out. What might happen if he worked with Jennings?

Or is he ready for a step up to OC?

No, he was not mentioned as a candidate for the Montreal job. I would not mind seeing Jarious back here as OC.

Jarious was offered OC here last season after Lapo...both said no which is why Jones was brought back

I see Clements as a long shot. At this stage of his career does he want to suddenly come north? He had an 11 year run in Green Bay end when his contract expired this past January. That he hasn't done anything in 2017 could indicate someone looking for just the right thing or perhaps isn't worried if he works again or not. Maybe something will pop up though. Denver just fired former Charger HC Mike McCoy who was their OC. McCoy also was at one time a backup QB in Calgary. He could be a person of interest to CFL clubs. Scott Milanovich is another who doesn't seem to be getting much pub for these jobs. He has history in Montreal serving as Trestman's OC.

I wonder what it would take to get Doug Nussmeier up here? He's been the OC at Alabama, U of Michigan and Florida - three pretty big programs. Plus he's a former Leos quarterback. Not sure he has any interest in coming north to be a Head Coach, but an interesting name to throw out there since we're spit-balling ideas.

David, that is an interesting "spit-ball". In fact, I suspect that there could be many "unknown" names that could work. The problem for us fans is that we don't often know them. The problem for the GM's is that they often know only a few of them. Coaching is a pretty small circle of friends and hiring is often done on the basis of previous relationships. After years of watching the usual cast of CFL coaching retreads file through this organization, with the same-old, same-old philosophies, I am more than ready to bring in some young, fresh coaching talent and let them develop into their roles. There is a reason that the up and coming CFL coaches do not come from BC and it is not a "good" reason.

He probably wouldn't like the haircut on payday. A USA Today article from August indicates he's at $842K and is under contract through the 2018 season. As a young OC in such big programs the future has to be very bright and lucrative for him. It's likely only a matter of time before an NCAA Div I HC job paying $2M or more is offered to him.

According to Danny Austin, whoever that is:

Official, from Stampeders: No team has asked John Hufnagel for permission to speak with DeVone Claybrooks about head coaching positions.

Claybrooks in his 2nd year as a DC is light years ahead of Washington as is Dickenson as a OC compared to Jones who was a OC in Hamilton back in 2011...tons of work to do in BC
